Seeing as it's October and we judge this on the 31st, I couldn't just ignore the aspect of Halloween and horror...
But...
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to write a really scary poem... about something completely un-scary!
Make me think you're being murdered when really you're being tickled... or write about the tip tap of looming footsteps only to discover it was the cat! Use your imagination and creativity, and create a big twist in your poem that no one will suspect!
Rules:
1. No Pre-writes
2. No profanity, sTiCkY caps, or chat slang such as: wuz, dat, ma, iz, newayz.
3. 1 entry per person, so check over your poem carefully before submitting it.
4. If you collaborate, the other poet must be a new October member also.
5. Each new AP member that enters the contest MUST read a minimum of 3 of the other poems in the contest in order to be eligible for selection.
6. Any poem that does not fit the criteria – regardless of how good it may be will be removed if after the initial request to the author to remove/correct it themselves is ignored.
Before submitting your poem, please ask yourself the following:
· Does this meet closely with the requirements of the contest?
· Did you go over the poem and check for any grammatical or typographical errors?
· If you were judging this contest, would you be able to see how this poem would or would NOT win placement?
Contest will close on October 31st @ Midnight (USA time) and winners will be notified a few days later as judging is a team effort by the Greeters.
