Hi, my name is Sue, I am a single, divorced mum of 2 adult children, Scott & Nicole, and nan to 6 grandkids, including twin grsons 3 1/2, 5 and 7 yo granddaughters and 14 and 15 1/2 yo grsons.
I am a qualified nurse but unemployed after sustaining
work injury. I enjoy playing/singing and listening to music/pc's/internet/reading/writing/word games/sudoku etc. All this keeps me sane and alert.(well I hope so )

Errant Panther is my real life son and he introduced me to this site.(Please check out his page and poetry www.allpoetry.com/Errant%20Panther ...he is very talented and made my background for this page.)

My mother, myself and my son all wrote independently of each other and all 3 of us have had poems published in the past.
This is amazing as I grew up with my father from a young age with no influence in my formative years from my mother and rare contact since adult. I never planned to write poetry as adult as disliked writing it at school but I was overwhelmed several times by inspiration just prior to my long term marriage ended, and since, and am still (after 5and half yrs on own) trying to adjust to single life again.
I get most inspiration when I am trying to sleep early hours of the morning when I often have to write thoughts on paper so I can then try to sleep.

Returned home from hospital 16 Sept 06 after few days in for pneumonia and found I gained FIRST TROPHY here (SILVER) for "I am an autumn leaf" It was a great welcome home and a surprise after only a month in the site.

UPDATE:
Gained first Bronze Trophy for funny poem "unexpected visitor at the disco' and first GOLD trophy for poem/rewrite of Creeds 'My Sacrifice'... I called it 'Sequel to My Sacrifice'. Got second gold trophy for "Dimples".

Latest Update: I got engaged on 29 Nov 2006 and was married on Jan 19, 2008

NOTE: I will be away awhile now as am going to help my daughter with her young children, as she recently broke her arm and her hubby needs to return to work, see you all when I return. (added August 2008)

NEW Update Nov 3 2007:

This was written as a tribute to me by a new friend on this site and I was truly honoured and am sharing it here with his permission. Thanks so much for this unexpected honour and praise, Pat aka PatPowers

MISSING MADELEINE

Can You Help?

British police are calling on members of the public to help further in the search for Madeleine McCann. If you were at the Ocean Club Resort, Praia da Luz or in the surrounding areas in the two weeks leading up to Madeleine’s disappearance on Thursday 3 May then we would like to have copies of any photographs taken during your stay.

In particular we would like any pictures that have people in them who you don’t know as opposed to scenery shots or pictures of just your own family.

Please take a moment to LIGHT A CANDLE for Maddy,

Little Madeleine McCann from England, was abducted while on holiday with her parents and twin brother and sister in Portugal last week, she was snatched from her bed as she slept...fears are growing for her safety...she should be at home having exciting birthday celebrations, it was her fourth birthday yesterday...relatives back home still celebrated, hoping all the time that she would be found and returned, they sent up pale pink balloons soaring into the sky!

The following link is to a website her family has set up, where you can leave messages of hope and also download a poster with her photograph...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobuckethttp://www.bringmadeleinehome.com/pictures/

With each passing day the chances of a happy outcome dwindle. Even as Mr. McCann spoke, the Portuguese authorities were scaling down the search for his daughter in the scrub around Praia da Luz. Success now depends upon very good detective work, a lucky break or both.

If anyone has any information about Madeleine, no matter how little, please don’t hesitate to inform the authorities...she could be in your area anywhere around the world...she has a distinctive beautiful face, in her right eye the pupil bleeds down, it is very noticeable and cannot be changed by her abductor

~One Million pound Reward has been put up for Madeleines safe return~

  • FransB : I seemed to have crossed on May 4
with your page twice today. I have this feeling that were I one of your grandchildren, I would sit at your feet each evening before going to bed to hear a story / poem from you. I remember my niece playing her violin when we bunked down by the dozen on the floor in my grandmom's home. There was no TV in those days, and so within music and sigh, we would fall asleep with the Great Masters in our ears. Glad to have met you . Frans
