HighwaytravellerShow poetry

I have always tried to pick just one movie, song, or book that would define me, but I could never do it (August Rush almost makes the movie, though)...the only thing I learned about myself, it's that I hate to be defined...I think of myself as an 'all over the place' kind of girl..a little crazy, a little sad, a little sweet, a little spicy...
So I'd really appreciate it if you don't define me, either...I hate limitations...especially the mental ones...

• I LOVE music!!! Especially stuff from the 60's and 70's and 80’s and 90's..lol. Has anyone ever heard of the Bangles? In case you didn’t know, they are the most awesome band that ever lived(and are still going strong)! If ANYONE has even heard of them, or better still, likes them, PLEASE tell me(I'm desperate). I play the electric and acoustic guitar, harmonica, recorder and a li'l piano and I dream of starting a band someday. But I like other music too, like,

• I also love colour. I don’t know why, I just do. Whenever I paint, I just have to use as many colours as possible!

• A lot of people think I’m slightly crazy. I probably am, but I don’t care. Hey, I’ve had my fair share of troubles, but in the end, you can only go forward, right?

• I’m a bit of a dreamer (well, actually, more than a bit!). I want to climb mount everest someday (that’s actually not at the top of my list. First I’ve got to reach the south pole, chase a tornado, and become one of national geographic’s top photographers. Oh yeah, and I’ve got to go to Australia and become a farmer). I told you I was a dreamer!!

• I love India, but I want to travel the world (my name ain't highwaytraveller for nothin'!). India is really very different from what a lot of people think. Seriously.

• I am a BIG FAN of A Country Practice. Some of you Australians out there might know what I'm talking about! Again, if you do, PLEASE let me know! There's not a single person besides me who seems to have heard of it!!

I have the 'Angel City' dream (DON'T judge). well, I'm not into Hollywood, but I'm into a lot of the other aspects...I actually scare myself because I have hung my whole life on this dream of going to Santa Monica...

I am also trying desperately to find a person who lives in Santa Monica....she is the only person who can make my life all right...but I don't know exactly where she lives...I'm getting there, though, and I believe one day I will go to there and turn up on her doorstep...but until then...I'm stuck somewhere I don't belong...

* I have also recently become interested by digital art...

Song For a Good Son (by the Bangles) from 'Doll Revolution - 2003

Susanna Hoffs - Vocals, rhythm guitar
Michael 'Micki' Steele - Lead vocals, bass, (she is FEMALE, she changed her name)(mind you, she is not the singer in all the songs, that's what I like about them, they are all singers)
Vicki Peterson - lead guitar, vocals
Debbi Peterson - Drums, vocals

A summer's day so long ago
A thousand boats dancing on the bay
I came to you inside a dream
We both held hands and fell into the water
You never claimed to know me well
The dark-eyed son, the privileged man
You fond me bitter, you thought me cold
Well now I'm gonna make you understand
My mother died, my father cried
He left me lonely by the waterside
Waterside so deep and wide
If I follow, maybe I will find her

Beyond the salt and spray
The current carried her away

Beyond the salt and spray
The current carried her away

I can't outrun my destiny
Tell me who will sing a song for me
Darkness darkness cover me
By my own hands the way it has to be
My mother died my father cried
You will find me by the waterside
Waterside so deep and wide
If I follow, maybe I will find her
If I follow, maybe I will find her...

Hey, I can't send messages. My computers messing up. Yeah, you can use the tune and write different lyrics, but just include SOME of the lyrics for the song you choose. This is for the contest Lyrics Mania, btw.
