My name is Mary. I am a wife, mother and the grandmother of three.
I visited Italy in 2002 A family hosted me during the visit and I can never forget their kindness. The youngest son, Pasquale was referred to as Mimmo. It's the same as calling a person named Steven, Steve. Mimmo and I had never met before and when he greeted me at the air port he quickly exclaimed, "PICCOLA!" It means tiny or small. He was 6'8 and I am 4'11.
It was mostly he, along with his sister Gina who took time off from their university
studies to escort me around Rome and Salerno and the Amalfi Coast.
We became best friends and he was later to die from an inoperable brain tumor.
Maybe I can remember him by seeing this page every day.
I miss you Mimmo
Cry Piccola
Cry Piccola, happy tears
Time to face your countless fears
That have run your life for years
Now has come your day to fly
Open wings and off you soar
Leave the hurt forever more
Heed the voices that implore
"Give yourself unto the sky"
Let your worries fall as rain
Crystal drops of liquid pain
Tiny vessels that contain
All the agonies you've had
Break the shackles of the past
Cross the rainbow, free at last
To the winds your dreams are cast
Cry Piccola and be glad
Rakerman

My favorite poems are those of W.B. Yeats
Some of my other favorite quotes are:
Joy descends gently upon us like the evening dew, and does not patter down like a hailstorm.

Never part without loving words to think of during your absence. It may be that you will not meet again in this life.

Poetry is plucking at the heartstrings, and making music with them.
