Poetry has long been a love of mine....It attends the spirit, allows for personal pathways to open, reaches others in a way similar to music, and, is an expression of our own inner selves, our lives, our thoughts.
By sharing our poetry, perhaps those who do not write may find something in our words that they, themselves, need to say or express, or, perhaps it's just finding someone else who feel as they do. Writing is a gift. When shared in a good way, it's like that movie "Pay It Forward". Perhaps our words will bring joy or understanding to one, who shares with others, and, continues the circle.
I have been writing poetry and fiction for most of my 58 years. It all started with a poem my Father wrote to my Mother. My father read it to me when I was 6 years old because he wanted me to understand what Love is. I still have that poem and it exemplifies the love they shared for over 60 years. A wonderful legacy. At age 7 I wrote my first poem of 8 lines. It has grown to a lifelong love.
I am blessed to have some of my poetry hanging as a framed gift in friends homes, published here and there, and shared.
We each, as individuals, have our reasons for writing....as it should be.
Just remember....your words have impact on others lives.
Keep writing!!!

Suzianne : Welcome to AP on August 25It is a pleasure to welcome another poetess to the group. I hope you will enjoy participating as much as I do. There are some outstanding people here. It takes a while to get to know them, but it is well worth the effort.
