My name is Jade.
The poems I write are for me, written from experience or from the heart. You don't have to like them, that's fine but bear in mind that I didn't write them for other people to like, I wrote them for my own reasons and for myself. I'm not claiming to be the best poet in the world, I know I am not so hold your criticism... please don't insult my feelings because really, that's what they are.
If you are looking for happy/cheerful/bright/inspriring/uplifting etc poems you will not find them here. Like I said, I write from the heart and from experience and at the moment I'm not in the place to write that sort of stuff. So I don't.
My life is actually a mess right now for a number of reasons. I used to be smart, passed all my GCSEs(end of school exams in England) with good grades and went to college to study chemistry, biology, maths and pyschology (I later swapped chemistry for English language and literature combined). I was doing alright but then issues from my past came back to haunt me and I couldn't cope in college anymore so I left. I've spent the past 2 years since then doing nothing. I don't work. I don't study. My life seems to be going nowhere and I don't know how it got like this. But I'm still in too much pain to sort it out.
I listen to a variety of music. The only music I can't/won't listen to is R&B, rap etc(although I do make some exceptions)... I can't stand that sort of stuff and don't know how it can be called music. Just to prove I have a wide listening range, here are the bands in my iTunes libary:
Aerosmith, AFI, Aiden, Alanis Morrisette, All American Rejects, Amy Winehouse, Armor For Sleep, Aselin Debison, The Ataris, Avril Lavigne (all her old stuff so I think it's acceptable!!), The Beatles, The Beautiful South, Billy Talent, Blink 182, Blondie, Blue October, The Bluetones, Bon Jovi, Bowling For Soup, Britney Spears, Bullet For My Valentine, The Calling, Carrie Underwood, Cascada, Celine Dion, Chely Wright, Cher, Christina Aguilera, The Corrs, Counting Crows, The Cranberries, Dana Glover, Dishwalla, Dixie Chicks, Dolly Parton, Eminem, Evanescence, Faith Hill, Flyleaf, Forgive Durden, From First to Last, Funeral For a Friend, Gabrielle, Garth Brooks, Goo Goo Dolls, Good Charlotte, Green Day, Gretchen Wilson, Hawthorne Heights, HIM, Hoobastank, Ian Van Dahl, Indigo Girls, Jack Off Jill, Jack Savoretti, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Joni Mitchell, Josh Groban, The Juliana Theory, Katherine Jenkins, Kelly Clarkson, Kenny Chesney, Kittie, Korn, Lacuna Coil, Lasgo, Lauryn Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Less Than Jake, Marilyn Manson, Martina McBride, Mary J Blige, Matchbox Twenty, McFly, Melissa Etheridge, Missy Elliot, MCR(I know, I know), Nightwish, Nirvana, Oasis, October Fall, Panic! At The Disco, Papa Roach, Paramore, Pink, Plain White T's, Puddle of Mudd, Queen, Rascall Flatts, Reba McEntire, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM, Sara Evans, Say Anything, Scarling, Seether, Shakira, Shania Twain, Sheryl Crowe, Simple Plan, Spice Girls =], Stevie Wonder, Tanya Tucker, Taylor Swift, Terri Clark, Texas, Third Eye Blind, Tim McGraw, Tori Amos, Tracy Chapman, Trisha Yearwood, The Used, Vanessa Carlton, The Veronicas, The Verve, Violent Femmes, Weezer, Wheatus, Within Temptation, 3 Doors Down.
Some I listen to/like more than others but I think I made my point.
I don't have a favourite genre of film, for me it's about the film itself and not the genre although I will say that I do not like action at all! And horror films aren't on my favourites list either purely because they're just never scary, so to me that's defeating the object of even having a horror genre (again, I will make exceptions).
Some of my favourite films are:
The Sound of Music (I love the memories I have of watching it growing up), Girl, Interrupted, Crash, The Color Purple, The Notebook, I Am Sam, Steel Magnolias, Practical Magic, Napoleon Dynamite, Pirates of the Caribbean (all of them), Most of Adam Sandler's films, All the classic Disney stuff, Wayne's World, Saw 1 & 2, Moulin Rouge, Miss Congeniality, Finding Nemo =], 28 Days, Notting Hill, Sister Act 1&2, Stepmom, White Oleander, Drop Dead Fred, Zoolander, Secret Window, Forrest Gump, Rain Man, Trainspotting, Mrs Doubtfire, E.T...
Lol the list goes on
Favourite TV: The Mighty Boosh, Charmed, Ghost Whisperer, Friends, Will & Grace, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, The Royle Family, Nevermind the Buzzcocks, Oprah =], Sex & The City, The IT Crowd...
Beliefs:
Do you believe in:
Karma? I think I do sometimes... I'm not sure
Christianity? No
Buddah? No
Angels? I'd like to but as I don't believe in a god a can't really believe in messengers of god without being a hypocrite can I?
Any God? Who? No, none
More than one God? No
Goddesses? No
That we are all god? or a god/godess? Lol what? No
Catholic beliefs? I was christened and brought up Catholic... I don't believe a word of it
Spirits? Yes
Ghosts? Yes
Reincarnation? I think out of everything this is the one I'm most likely to believe because although I don't believe in god and therefore don't believe in a heaven and hell, I still believe that we go somewhere after we die, purely because our body's die, not our souls... I think our souls must go somewhere so it makes sense to me that they would move on to another body, hence reincarnation.
In Virgin Mary? Nope
In Jesus? There might have been a guy called Jesus who wandered around preaching to people... I don't believe he was the son of god and I don't believe he performed miracles and I don't believe much else about him
In astrology? Nope... load of crap, how exactly does the alignment of the stars tell us things about our future/our lives etc? Bullshit.
That some people have pyschic abilities? I really don't know... sometimes I do but then it's so easy to fool people if you know what you're doing. I guess only the 'psychic' will ever know the truth
In satan? Nope
In numerology? I'm not sure exactly what it is but I know the basic idea and no I don't believe in it
In palmstry? Lol! No
Any rituals? Christ no
Confession? Do I believe in confession? Lol well if I didn't I'd be wrong... there's proof that confessing things exists =P
Praying? I believe people pray. I believe that people believe they are praying to a god. But I don't believe they are. I think if these prayers come true it's coincedence or just things happening as they are supposed to...
What do you think about:
Abortion? I honestly don't know. I can't decide what I think. It's a very difficult subject... all I think is that there should be no judgement (but sometimes I think I'm wrong about that lol this topic really has me confused with my feelings)
Divorce? Well I don't believe in marriage in the first place so... but sometimes it's necessary, I'm not one of these people who's going to sit there and say that once married you should stay married because you made a vow etc etc... sometimes it's necessary to break that vow
Suicide? I think it should be a lot fecking easier to commit
Drug abuse? Well obviously it's not a good thing. But at the same time it's the individual's decision whether they want to take drugs and therefore nobody else's business to say somebody shouldn't. I can't really sit here and say nobody should take drugs as I use weed, cocaine and ecstasy on occasion to try and cope with my stuff... I'd be a hypocrite to say I'm against it (although I do know it's not good)
Religion? If I'm honest I'm totally against all religion. I think religion is the reason for a lot of the wars at the moment, it's the reason we have so much discrimination against other races, other religions, other sexualitys... and all because people choose to believe in something that is a complete pile of shite (in my opinion obviously, I do respect that others believe, I just very strongly don't)
Pre-marital sex? As long as it is consented then why shouldn't you be able to sleep with your partner/person you love?... and you know what, even if it's a one night stand... it's your damn business and nobody elses to decide who you're going to sleep with. As long as you're careful and happy with your decision then go for it...
Marriage? Meh... I don't see the point truthfully. If you're going to marry somebody you're probably already living with them anyways (otherwise how would you know you'll be able to put up with them all the time?), you've probably been with them a good few years (because it'd be stupid to marry somebody you've known for 5 minutes), you may already have kids with them (it happens)... so I don't see the point in spending thousands of pounds/dollars on a wedding just to sign a piece of paper that declares you're now married when it doesn't change anything anyways. If you're already happy with someone and living with them and love them why do you need to sign a piece of paper as if that's going to change anything? And why waste a shit load of money while you're doing it? Ridiculous. Plus it's a lot more expensive to split up once you're married. Annnnd, marriage is under god. I don't believe in god so I couldn't get married... I'd feel like a hypocrite again
Teen pregnancy? Well it happens. Probably not the most ideal thing for the people in this situation but why should teen parents be looked down on? They can be just as good parents as anybody else/maybe better and don't deserve to be judged just on their age (obviously if they are bad parents then they do need to be judged... but still not because of their age). Also people shouldn't think teen mums got that way from sleeping around... it only takes once.
Parents that are too strict? Well then they need to lighten up don't they?
Parents that let their kids do anything they want? Well then they need to get their arses in gear and start parenting
Gay people getting married? Right well my opinion on marriage is still the same whether it's for gay or straight people... I don't believe in it. I am absolutely for equal rights, I have no problem with gay/lesbian/bi/whatever people and to be quite honest I'm sick of the subject. If they want to get married I guess they should on the grounds of equal rights but at the same time marriage is under god... the same god who tells them who they are is wrong... so I think it is hypocritical to have gay marriage and I also don't understand why you'd want to get married under someone who tells you who you are is wrong. But I guess if a gay couple want to get married that's their business and they should have that option.
Gay or bi people in general? At the moment I think Bisexuality has become a trend. You're not cool if you're not bi and it's pathetic. But otherwise I don't care. My only issue with the gay community is that they keep banging on about equal rights... which is absolutely fine, they should get that but if you want equal rights try and be fucking equal. Don't go having Mardi Gras parades... if we had straight parades I'm sure there would be a riot happening... Mardi Gras is not equal rights (as much as I love to go and celebrate it because it's a good party). You can't say you want to be equal and then go having a parade to celebrate being gay. You can't say you want equal rights and then have gay/lesbian/bi/transgender only football teams or g/l/b/t/ only group meetings(I know these exists because I've seen the leaflets, I'm not just making things up) etc etc... or even gay bars because again if we had straight bars we'd be discriminating. I think if you want to be treated equally then fucking act equally... you don't need to parade around the streets announcing that you're gay and proud and need a parade to show that and whatever because you wouldn't need to do that if you were truly equal... people just need to get on with their lives and be people not their genders/stereotypes or sexuality. Rant over!!!
How about gay people adopting? Whatever. Why not... what difference does it make, as long as they will be good parents and look after the child. That's what matters
Are you gay, straight or bi? Straight.
Well anyways, that's a bit of me... I was planning to write about other aspects of moi but to be quite honest my fingers are tired from typing lol and my brain hurts from ranting ;-) so I'll do it next time I can be bothered
I hope you enjoy my poems. Or not. Whichever.
Comments will be greatly appreciated. I'll try and return and always rate comments a 5 so extra points for you =]
