-WELCOME-

-ABOUT ME-

My name is Moya and I'm 22 years old, from Ireland. I've been writing poetry since I was eight years old; my mum used to encourage me to write by promising to give me 20p for every poem I wrote - great encouragement to a kid who wants money for sweets! If it wasn't for Mum, I doubt I would have continued writing - she has done so much for me in so many ways.

On the 11th June 2008, I finished my four year music degree with an hour long public flute & piccolo recital. Now I work in Financial Banking, in London - with a view to moving to Sydney in November.

In my spare time, I spend an awful amount on Furry-Paws, and a stray dog RPG - Canine Controversy. I also do image manipulations, and, once I get some time to myself, plan to make a few 'gifts' of such for poets on here that have caught my attention so watch this space. I also enjoy socialising, watching movies, reading, and chatting on msn messenger / yahoo chat. Bit of a textaholic too!

I have one dog, named Allegro and he's a Bichon Frise. And one cat, Robinson.

MY POETRY-
My two main topics of poetry are animals, and dark suicidal pain-struck works. I rarely write joyful poems, because my heart seems to be enclosed in a sorrow-wrung cage. Nearly all my poems are steady rhymes, although I have the occasional 'good' free verse work. They are catagorised in files at home such as: Abuse: Sexual, Physical, Emotional, Acrostics, Animal, Death, Dedications, Messages, Family, Friendship, Love, Letters, Moralistic, Music, Nature, Fire, General, Controversial, War and Religious to give you an idea of the topics I've touched.

BAMBI: Bambi was my beloved cat who I had to choose to put to sleep on 14th January 2003. She had been poisoned, although she hung on for two days while I syringed medicine into her stone-cold body every two hours. Being practically comatose, the thermometer couldn't register a temperature on her when the vet attempted it, so in the end, I had to let her go. I've written so many tens of poems for her, and have put together a shrine for her of poetry, pictures and letters, which now hangs in my bedroom - you can see part of it here: Goodbye Bambi

AP Family/Friends-
The following are people who I respect, and whose poetry I like very much to date on AP:

Ellie was my first AP little sister. I haven't ever had a little sister in any sense of the word, so was quite excited at getting to know her. She has some awesome poetry coming from her!!

Broken Bambi is my second AP little sister, as of the 8th Sept. 2008; found each other in a contest that she was running while seeking new family members. Hopefully, after reading more of her poetry, we'll become a little closer =)

Pensitivity [previously known as Dapigster] is my third, and for now, final AP little sister. I found her through a contest she was running, and while I don't usually enter AP Family Contests, I really liked her poetry and knew that we'd connect well. She writes amazingly, definitely check this kid out!

Kyle is a guy I came across randomly, and so glad I did. He writes straight from the heart, and has been known to bring tears to my eyes.

Wizardess is a good online friend of mine who I didn't meet here, and didn't know until tonight that she even had an account. Please do check out her works, she writes so deeply, and has a warm heart. ♥ you Wiz!

Lin and I go way back, from a site called Friendship and Love Poetry. She is one heck of a lady that has struggled through the sorrows that God has thrown her and come out the other side, still in darkness but with the belief held firmly in her hands. There is no other like her.

To come;
