Grace needed

I need to feel a fresh breath of God's amazing grace and love. So, I'm hosting this contest to gather and read poems that cause me to be overwhelmed with grace.

Here's an example

Little child, I know you fell today.
I'm here to say that's okay.
I know you're hurting in your heart
And you feel we are apart.

I promised you I'd never leave.
All you need to do is believe.
Know my word is faithful and true.
I will never leave nor forsake you.

There is no need for you to hide your face.
Your sin is covered by my loving grace.
I know you will sometimes fall down
And feel unworthy of your crown.

This is why I gave my life for you,
Because I know what you cannot do.
There is no need to live with shame.
You are worthy to bear my name.

No rules just write something that will cause me to feel grace.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on January 22, 2006
  • Rewards: Gold: 300
  • Final notes:
I enjoyed reading these. Thanks to all who entered. Please take time to read the winners especially "The Journey" by Frogsters40 I was really touched by that piece. "Pot of Clay" by Molassis expands well the image from Jer 19. "Coming Through" by PoeticXDarkness gives a wonderfull feeling of God's (Abba's) love for us a his children.
    Some honorable mentions:
"The Evening Prayer" by Blushfulmoon. She has a good insight into grace that extends beyond forgiveness. She is a very talented poet and I would highly recommend reading her poems.
"The Angel of the Storm" by Providence presents and unique image of grace in the midsts of storms thats worth your read.
"God-Sized Challenge" by The Moof offers a perspective on grace that also goes beyond forgiveness. It may challenge your thinking on grace and what is a gift.

Hey... I have written several poems that would fit perfectly into your contest, but sadly they've already been written and your contest doesn't allow prewrites. If you change your mind and decide to allow prewrites, I'll go ahead and enter it. Or if you want to see the poems I am talking about, I can send you the links. I may try and come up with something else for this contest.... Anyways, good luck with your contest! I hope it turns out great and you get a ton of entries
