God's Love and Grace (contest)

This contest is to help us to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. I want very personal poems that describe God's love and Grace. I don't want just descriptive poems such as God is... His love is... or His grace is... I want Letters from God, I want Stories of his Love and Grace. I want to experience love and grace reading the poems. I want anyone reading the poem to get a better grasp of how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. The poet who does the best job, in my opinion, of doing this will get 300 pts and a gold trophy, but more than that the satisfaction that the poem was used by God to give people a better understanding if his very nature.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 17, 2006
  • Rewards: Gold: 300
  • Final notes:
Thank you all for entering my contest. I appreciate all your efforts. I had a tough time choosing first and second. I thought Bonnie Q's was the best written poem of the contest but that Frogzter's poem best met the requirements and request of the contest. Frogzter's poem was personal, heartfelt and conveyed God's love in deep moving way.

Hey I really want to enter your contest, but after reading your entire description, I'm a little confused. At first you say you want personal poems. But then you say you want letters from God. So which is it? Or is the part about letters from God just an example of what could be entered? I got a little confused. Do the entries have to be letters from God or is that just like an option? Is anything exceptable as long as it is meaningful and it describes the love of Christ?

Thanks for hosting. God bless you and best of luck with your contest

Sorry for the confussion. To me a letter from God would be personal because it's from God to a person. I just don't want generic poems of "God's love is great." I want either a personal testimony or a personal letter or a moving story. I'll accept any moving poem on the subject. But the more personal, the more moved I tend to be. Hope that helps.

Yes, that helps I know letters from God would be personal, but that would also be a personal choice in the way you write a poem. So that's just an option, correct? If I write a personal poem on this subject, it will still be good for entry into your contest? Just don't want to waste my time writing a poem and then have it DQed. That's why I'm making sure.

Yes, write the poem anyway you wish. I didn't list any 'rules' just offered insight into what tends to move me.

    Wonderful Contest

Oh, Mel, I am so humbled that you felt Benchmark worthy of the Silver. That happens to be my favorite trophy, for it reminds me that God looks at us as silver tried in earth's furnace until all the dross is removed and He sees Himself in us. Thank you so much.

And, I would like to say that I feel you made an excellent choice for the gold. Sandy's poem was exquisite and, yes, she had put the personal touch to express God's infinite love. Of course, the bronze was a well-earned one, too. I just tend to be a bit partial of my surrogate daughter, Sandy aka Frogzter.

Congratulations to all the winners; and many thanks to our wonderful host.

    Much love and hugs, B♥nnieQ
