- The Fantasy contest -

Hello everyone, and welcome to my 3rd contest!

Let's get straight to the point:

What I want here, is obviously Fantasy. Any kind. Could be about an already existing Fantasy-story like Harry Potter, Eragon, LOTR, or less known stories like the Seer and the Sword (a personal favourite ), the Elenium trilogy... anything. If you happen to choose a rather unpopular Fantasy story, please let me know which one it is in your author's comments.

Fairies, pixies, trolls, elves... anything like that ARE ALLOWED!!! Make it dreamy and ancient!

Now, your poem can be epic, very long, heroic, tragic, filled with love, loss and despair, practically anything as long as it sticks to the genre. You can make up a fantasy story and narrate it with your poem.

The second option is that you write a poem about how much you love fantasy, and why that is so. Me, for example, I can't live without it. In a bookstore, I'd automatically walk towards the fantasy department. Tell me about your relationship with fantasy!

- I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ELIMINATE ANY POEMS THAT ARE NOT LIKELY TO WIN OR THAT DO NOT FOLLOW THE RULES IMMEDIATELY. SORRY BUT THESE ARE MY POINTS AND PLEASE DON'T ENTER IF YOU'LL MAKE A FUSS ABOUT THAT -

Now, here are the terrifying rules:

1 NO: PROFANITY, CUTTING, EXPLICIT EROTICA, HUMOROUS POEMS, HOMOSEXUALITY AND STICKIES.
2 Religion can be involved; as it always plays an important role in epics.
3 Erotica can be in it, but PLEASE make it just a tiny, teensy bit, and not explicit.
4 You DO NOT have to comment on other entries, obviously, but it'd be nice.
5 This is a winner-take-it-all contest for 300 points - sorry, I'm low on points. HM will be acknowledged but won't get any points. Maybe there'll be a couple of applauses.
6 Max 2 entries per poet. 1 prewrite only.
7 Historical poems might be frowned upon but are accepted.
8 NO POEMS ABOUT SNOOKER. Sorry, Ann!
9 There is no rule 9. Sorry.
10 Your poem MUST have a realistic background and setting, meaning no combining of Toasters and Castles. HINT: I love the Middle Ages and Castles as a setting. Make it royal, peeps.

So go ahead and have fun!!!

It would definitely work if you'd add a bit of plot to it, to make it more fantasy-ish.

I love The Seer and the Sword. It's a very good book, the plot was totally original, very refreshing. But great contest idea, I think I'll enter soon.

I'm a pixie and I don't flatter anyone unless it is warranted but your troll story was very creative and entertaining. I love it. I copied and pasted it so I could read it at work.

I absolutely love that book. Did you read the sequel? Well, I think it's just half as good but that still makes it great, right?

Really? I don't even know Twilight The sequel to the Seer and the Sword is called the Healer's Keep, and isn't really about Torina but about her daughter, Saravelda, who has to fight evil this time. It's not really a sequel though, it's called a "companion" lol whatever that means.
