A world gone mad

Hi I decided to have a contest to find other incidences to show how mad the world is getting, bureaucracy wise mainly. Recently I had tried to submit some forms with a government department and was told I had to submit birth certificate too, so I got my birth certificate and went with it and other forms and was told then that it may be rejected as it is an overseas birth certificate, ridiculous hey..We have no control over where we are born and I came to Australia as a child with my parents and siblings also...and with that saiI decided to run this contest.
Also, when I worked at a nursing home years ago, we got a patient in, then got an irate phone call from a staff member at a palliative care unit saying he was supposed to be admitted there for his last 6 weeks of life..so I replied .."You tell me when he is due to die and we will send him 6 weeks before, as I don't know how many weeks he has left"...stupid eh....God didn't give me the calendar lol

Prompt is.... Pen something about bureaucracy gone made, it's rules or some experience you have had that relates to this subject...for example...it could be about silly dress rules at clubs etc..eg where women can wear shorts but men can't etc

Note: I may not comment on entries till judging, but I will comment on all entries. Amount of HM's may be adjusted depending on entries received.

Rules:

1. Please keep under 50 lines
2. No swearing or adult language

NOTE: PLEASE READ INTRO ABOVE BEFORE ENTERING to ensure you address what I want here, especially those submitting prewrites. Please ensure they do address the subject matter as I do not want to have to remove them as most of the prewrites entered so far do not follow what I asked for.

Get writing...I hope to get lots of funny entries

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 7
  • Rewards: Gold: 350, Silver: 210, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
  • Final notes:
Thanks everyone for your entries. However, most of the prewrites entered I did not feel fit with what I had asked for, and before you enter prewrites in any contest it is advisable to make sure they do actually fit. A couple of the prewrites did however fit well and I am glad I also got a couple of entries written especially for my contest. I really liked the place getters poems and felt they best fit and agree with the words of the HM winners poems. Well done.
