Well go have fun, enjoy and lets see some flesh creeping and people going to bed tonight looking over their shoulders ...likewise in the day too... remember ghost haunt in the daytime too!

Now scare me if you can and be warned... I am NOT easily scared...as I am already dead myself! (Ha Ha Ha!).

Note:
When I first set this contest I opted for NO pre-writes but by some quirk the system set this to the contrary and before I could re-edit two entries had been posted so on this occasion these will be allowed as it was not your fault that there was an error as the contest was set in posting up. New Poems are prefered.

Update:
The entries so far are amazing, this is going to be one very hard to judge contest and again I know I shall be sitting here wishing I could give Gold's to you all, thanks you all for your fabulous high standard entries. It is an honour to have you all in my contest, thanks for your phenomenal submissions! It is you who make contests great! Keep them coming!

Points just went up! ...

Gold is now at: 750
Silver is now at: 550
Bronze is now at: 450
HM up now up to: 10

Have fun! Thanks for entering and you are all winners no matter what!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on September 3
  • Rewards: Gold: 750, Silver: 550, Bronze: 450, Honorable mention: 9 people
  • Final notes:
That was one very hard contest to judge!
Again I wanted to award you all a Gold or above... do wish there was a Platinum and ties for Platinum, Gold Silver and Bronze, then I could up everyone!

You ARE ALL winners in this contest in my honest opinion, I really don't like not being able to award everyone Gold or above!

Ok so how was it judged....

I was looking for atmosphere, ambiance, a feeling of being within the scene painted by your words, regardless of how high brow the writing level was, even if a child had written the entry no matter, I wanted to feel what they felt, feel for the subject of their muse, and to be absorbed in the haunting picture I sought so here's the why's and wherefores...

Gold : The Little Lost Girl.
This made me feel like I was a little girl, lost in the spirit world looking for her Mummy, desperately searching, wondering if for all eternity I would find her or her me, the child like innocence of this wee bairn clutching a dummy in an eternal unrest, the dummy being important to a wee bairn that age, so that was powerful on imagery. Just what I was looking for, I felt just like that wee bairn and then I was lead to empathise with her mother, it was so sad and tragic I really felt for the two of them.
Brilliant atmospheric entry. Well done! bravo! Congratulations on a well earned Gold it was well deserved! Good page graphics were a bonus here and also the prompt picture used was featured on the page helping to connect the poem to the prompt. Great flow and rhyme was earned more bonus points here. Love it!

    Silver: Lost Soul.
Again this had the intense haunting atmosphere I sought and plenty of emotion.
Page graphics helped too the delicate sea faring boat took me for a sail into the mind of the subject matter, the lost wee bairn sitting for eternity in his unrest and torment. The mention of the dusty floor... added a 'feel this' factor, that was a bonus point here.
    Beautiful flow and rhyme too.
Well done love it, brilliant take on the prompt. Congratulations on a well earned silver.

    Bronze: The Bet
Loved the twist in this tale, that was a huge hit. Great on atmosphere too and you felt for the wee bairn sitting unwares of her fated end, or was she already dead and this an action replay of the past playing over and over.... ??? This provokes lots of imagination in the mind of the reader you almost feel like shouting out .. watch it... get out of there, run for it! Brilliantly gripping and captivating all through. Well done, love it! Congratulations on bronze which was well earned and deserved too!

HM 1: A Knock at the Door
Again great on atmosphere, and a lovely twist again at the end, great rhyme and flow and well metered too. Great poetic graphics and ambiance here and well sculpted as well.
Varying intensity was a nice change too, a sort of spooky roller coaster! I liked that.
Congratulations on HM and I wish I was able to award higher for this one, but sadly I was unable to do that as there are no ties for Gold, Silver and Bronze. Well done though, love it! Bravo.

    HM 2: Ghostly Terpsichore
Unusual title and great take on the prompt with hints of humour as in the 'jealous poltegeist' loved that bit! Nice page graphics and use of the prompt picture here too, great on flow and rhyme and again I wanted to award much higher for this but limited places prevented this from reaching upward. Loved it though and well done, Congratulations on the HM and thnaks for entering.

HM 3: With You, My Friend
Loved this and the dialogue was fabulous this was another one I only wish I could have awarded higher for, only for limited places above I would have elevated this one too.
Brilliant on atmosphere again and just what I was looking for on that score. Great flow and rhyme and well done, love it! Great storyline.
Congratulations on the HM and thnaks for entering.

HM 4: Sleeping With Her Ghost
Lovely atmosphere again here, spine tingling sensations all over and goosebumps that go bump in the night, felt the breeze of the spirits all over, and great on flow and rhyme again, wanted to elevate this to a higher award but again limited places wouldn't let me. Brilliant work bravo love it well done.
Congratulations on the HM and thnaks for entering.

    HM 5: Sad Sisterhood
Loved the personalization fo the characters here, and 'the behind closed doors in a nunnery and guess what its really like in here' angle, that was very clever indeed and again if only I could have elevated this to a higher award I would have done. Brilliant poem so well written too great rhyme and flow and use of prompt picture.
    Love it, well done!
Congratulations on the HM and thnaks for entering.

    HM 6: Welcome
Beautiful twisting tale here so well penned and great rhyme and flow again, fabulous poetic graphics as well and use of prompt picture was nice.
Wanted to elevate this to a higher award as well, do wish I could have, it was a brilliant poem and well done love it!
Congratulations on the HM and thnaks for entering.

HM 7: My Little Angel Sister
Again this had the emotions I was after and atmosphere more warm than chilling but immensely moving and feeling and so good on graphics. Loved the BG and the use of the prompt pic.
Wanted to award higher for this too wish I could have. Fabulous on rhyme and flow and so well written.
Congratulations on the HM and thnaks for entering.

    HM 8: Redemption
The name alone is a spine chiller causing a tingle all over and hairs to stand up on end! Liked that. Again great atmosphere and bursting at the seams with poetic graphics, vivid imagery and descriptives so well penned too. Use of prompt pic was good here too. Wanted again to award higher for this, sadly was not able due to restrictions on that.
    Loved it well done though!
Congratulations on the HM and thnaks for entering.

    HM 9: Mansion of Darc
Deep, dark intense, chilling and haunting felt like I had walked into a scene resembling the bowls of hell itself, very chilling trip indeed! Love the storylines as to why the poor souls have ended up there in that mansion od doom and intense gloom! That was brilliant. Nice use of BG and well penned.
Love it, bravo well done! Worth waiting for!
Again I wanted to award higher but limitations on ability to do this.
Congratulations on the HM and thnaks for entering.

Also good and thanks for entering you too are winners your works were fabulous.

Mmmm wonder if I can add an option now?

I wonder if I would be allowed to add another option? If so perhaps I should and post the one you are drawn to up? Is that allowed?
