I made the above tag. You can snag and put your name on it but please do NOT use it for the contest nor change the tag in anyway.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This contest is to help people and the families that have suffered and to bring awareness to others.
Here are the choices -
Write a poem to the people that are going through it and encourage them in it.
Write a poem to the people that have lost a family member because of this. Give them some comfort and love.
Write a personal dedication to someone that you know is struggling with breast cancer.
Write a poem to people that are young and need help understanding how important this subject is.
Write a poem about the breast cancer awareness ribbon and the reasons why you support this.
The last choice is to enter either a graphic or background that you've done in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. It needs to have your copyright marked on it and made for as a snag so people can use it to show their support.
You can enter more then once and prewrites are allowed.
I found this poem and decided to share it. The author is unknown sadly.
What Cancer Cannot Do
Cancer is limited,
It Cannot cripple love
It Cannot shatter hope
It Cannot corrode faith
It Cannot destroy peace
It Cannot kill friendship
It Cannot suppress memories
It Cannot silence courage
It Cannot invade the soul
It Cannot steal eternal life
It Cannot conquer the spirit

The Gold Winner recieves one month of free gold membership plus 400 points.
The Silver Winner recieves one month of free silver membership plus 300 points.
The bronze winner recieves a nice shiny trophy and 200 points.
HM's will increase depending on how many people enter but there won't be more then five.
Membership Donations are thanks to Kevin!
This contest will be judged around 2-2 1/2 weeks allowing plenty of time for people to enter and do whatever they need to.
I won't be commenting until it's closer time to judge.
Here are the rules -
All poems must be G rated. This is opened for all ages.
There will be no bashing/insulting allowed. Please be respectful to fellow poets in this contest.
Please make sure all graphics have the proper copyright on them. If you don't know the artist please don't use it. If you enter a graphic or background please know that others will use it so make sure in your notes to put if they need to give proper credit back. When you do them please make it so the text can be readable.
In your author notes please let me know what choice you picked.
It doesn't matter what kind of form you use. If you write songs instead of poems that's fine.
Prewrites are allowed if you have a poem that matches one of the options.
You can enter up to five times.
The length doesn't matter but please if you make it long keep me awake with it.
Thank you all for entering this contest. JustSimplyLissa will be my co-host so if you have any questions feel free to ask!
THIS WILL BE JUDGED AT THE FIRST OF NOV. So that way all it will go through all of October.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 1
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 300, Bronze: 200, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: Hey Everyone,
I could only view these enteries. I couldn't comment because almost each of them made me cry. All of them are very touching and special in its own way.
If I could I would award you all something for entering. I had a grandmother, grandfather, and a uncle who all died of cancer not breast cancer tho but I can somewhat relate to the feelings of watching a loved one suffer.
Thank you all again..and my apologizes for being unable to comment. Once I regroup I hope to comment on them if I'm even able to then...so very touching.
I also encourage you all to check the winners and the ones that got hm.
Thanks again everyone.
Kari and Lissa
