First off, this contest is being co-held by myself and softball-chic. She's awesome! Holla out to her!
Down to the details::
(Make sure if you have any questions that you send either myself or softball-chic an IM.)
Subject: A second chance. Write about why you would deserve one. (This can be for a second chance for a lover, goal, etc.) Explain why and the circumstances. What would you do differently? What did you do the first time? I want passion and no empty writing!
Form: We have agreed that you may use pre-writes. You may also write in a poem or essay. Whichever you choose, make sure you keep it to the point.
Rules: 1. You can enter as many as you want!
2. Do not use StIcKy CaPs!!
3. Write from the heart.
4. Comment on 3 poems and write the title and author of the poem in your author's comments.
5. We would appreciate it if you commented on our poems, but it's not required.
Judging: This contest will be open until June 27, 2004. It may last longer depending on the number of entries sent in. Because this contest is being co-held, we will each read every item you send in separately. After that, we will both discuss which we think are the best.
Awards: 1st-300
2nd-150
3rd-50
There will also be 5 honorable mentions. Each will receive 20 points.
Comments: We wish you good luck and happy writings! Again, if you are unclear about anything, please send an IM.

I'd enter, but I don't believe in regrets. That's my life philosophy - no regrets. I wouldn't change a thing -- I don't want a second chance, i'm sorry
-
It's alright.
I know I used to live like that, but I just kept on thinking, "What if..." That kind of got me. I'm glad you clicked on it though. Would you mind telling other people about this? Thanks!

I don't like to click without commenting so here is my comment. I am married for 21 years.....so I guess I can't enter your contest. I don't need a second chance, I have the man I always wanted, he is the one for me, the one I love, the first, the one and only!! I know, I am very lucky! I hope you have a lot of entries. Please be respectful to all the people in your contest, and comment on all of them. It means alot to those who enter. Cheryl Good luck
-

I've always had a great idea in my head for a poem/screenplay like this :-p.... hmmm...... Maybe I'll write it up and post it (but if not, good luck to everyone in the contest)

'We have star all over, when some one leave us hurt,or when we misbehave, but it is true there is always star waiting for us, a second change, a new beggining and perhaps, we will find some one that will take care of us like we deserve! and we will try to do somethings better than the last time.
hugs and kisses .Cindy -

just wanted to say good luck to the people entering the contests... i'm not quite esteemed enough to enter my own poems yet.. maybe someday.
-KK- -
I'm sure your poems are fine! You should enter, but anyways if not, someday is good enough. Thanks!
-
Thank you for your comments on my poetry, but I think this contest has come at the wrong point in my life. I have regrets, but nothing that I would want a second chance for. I think its because I don't want to change where I am, and I've always had a bad habit of looking at the long term when it comes to something like second chances or fixing mistakes.
Good luck with your contest and I hope you get a lot of entries!
keep penning,
~^_^~ -
thanks
Sounds interesting maybe I'll decide to write a piece or two for this contest. -
thanks!!! we would really appreciate it!!
-
an interesting idea for a contest. all of us face situations, ranging from love to job to opportunity, where we need a second chance. i havent written anything on this before. just hope i'll be able to churn out something.

Hi there. Contests ALWAYS get in the way of my inspiration. I find it impossible to write simply because a contest idea has come up. I do have passionate feelings about this idea for this contest, and I have lots I could write about it, but I don't know if I can gather all my thoughts in time for this, and just for this...but if the inspiration hits i will definitely put in an entry.
-
One more thing- this is a great idea for a contest- so I am sure you will get many entries. I will read the other entries. Maybe it will get my inspiration flowing.
-
Okay! I'm glad you looked at this anyways. I'm thinking of extending the deadline...I would love to read more entries. Possiblely another week or so. Anyways...don't let deadlines kill the passion of poetry inside of you. Happy writings!
punk out
Jen >_< -
Yeah, that is a good idea! Well, I hope you get hit with an inspiration.
-
I really think this is a good contest. It has made me think about things I have never thought about. I'm not just talking about my poetry either. But just thinking about the things I have REALLY done and why I did them, what I could've done different and why I deserve another chance.
Lots of love,
~maryj~ -
Thanks! I'm glad it made you think.....it was sorta intended to be like that. I always think...a little too much, though.
Jen >_< -
wow..no way..am I going to win this contest-hahaha-I didn't even realize how manypeople had entered..wow..
-
lol...everyone will do fine 8 different chances to win
i think i know who's gonna win 1st and that's it...i'm working on it!
-
THANK YOU
It means so much to me when what I write is liked. Again, thanks so much
-
Hey Jen!! Thanks for the honorable mention!! I believe all the people you chose as winners were perfect for the contest!! Great job everyone!!
