The Best Contest Ever...just check it out

This is my first contest
not that you care
just thought I'd let you know

I keep moving the judging date back further and further because I want a large collection of poetry to pick from.
But I think that this change will be the final one...so then I'm actually going to judge it!

I'm not too picky on what i want in this contest
but i do know what i do not want

1. no self abuse without cause or purpose
2. no erotica (it doesn't really go with the main idea of this contest anyways)
3. ummmm no haiku's
4. no more than 3 entries per person

and thats about it - not too bad now is it?

now here's what i do want

i love to read the kind of poems that make you think one thing, and then twist it around at the end

so write me poems with a twist in whatever is to be expected

i want to be confused, dazed, jaded, surprised, tricked, amazed, and any other adjectives you want to throw in there

************pleez spel gud*************

i cant stand bad spelling in poetry
cursing is alright if its tasteful and necessary to convey the theme of the poem

there is only one absolute requirement for this contest....

so listen up
i have 4 examples of the type of poem that i want posted
"Look in the mirror" "Angelic" "Final Exam" and "My thoughts for a penny"

please read at least 2 out of the 4 and just leave a comment on them(doesn't matter what u say, i don't really mind, just show me that u understand the idea of this contest)

its not tough, just ask if you've got any questions...

if i can figure out the scoring thing correctly...

1st place: 404 points
2nd place: 74 points
3rd place: 37 points

good luck

  • Rewards: Gold: 404
  • Final notes:
    Alrighy everyone.
The time has come, I couldn't sleep, so I judged everything tonight.

It is almost 4 in the morning here, so bear with me, i'm probably just going to ramble on and on
    ************************************************
I have a surprise for the winners of this contest!!!
i thought it would be a good idea for me to Feature the three medalling poems so that others can see their works

i will feature each of the winning poems for a certain number of clicks pertaining to the placement of the poem
and each poem will be shown in the featured box for sure
guaranteeing clicks on their great works

    1st place: 5 clicks
    2nd place: 4 clicks
    3rd place: 3 clicks

    such a fun surprise
i thought it was a good idea

thanks to everyone for your entries
all of the poems and stories were great
i enjoyed reading them (as i read through them for the second and third time tonight)

each poem had a comment from me on it i think, if i miss you, i'm sorry

i liked them all, but unfortunately...i could only pick so many

i'll bet you are all dying to know who won
the winners already knows i'm sure

    here are the results

FIRST PLACE!: "THE DREAM" by A VOICE WITHIN!!! congrats ***404pts***
SECOND PLACE!: "FADING" by DROWNING IN YOU!! great job **74pts**
THIRD PLACE!: "ALONE" by LIL GOTH GIRL! good job *37pts*

and i have 3 honorable mentions that i would like to give their due credit

"I Killed a Monster Mommy" by Zeek
"A Brand New Dawn" by Peacelink
    "Shut up" by Sadelmann

each of the honorable mentions will be applauded so that they can get some points from this contest
thanks again to everyone who entered
i will be hosting another contest very soon so please feel free to enter that one as soon as it's up and running!!!

i hope everyone enjoyed this contest as much as i have
i will probably be checking some additional poetry from each of the enterers in the future so keep writing!!!

    buhbye

I've got a really cool story... but its form is more poetic and it's really really cool with twists like you wouldn't believe. Please check it out first before you say no... and will you send me an IM if it's okay?

When you read my stuff, you will see that I include our savior in everything that I write, or it leads you to having to think about things. TO EVERY ONE ELSE..... Good luck to all of you. Thanks for the honorable mention, I enjoyed entering this contest because you are a very nice person, there have been many contest where I and others have submitted prewrites and not even received a comment, you were sweet enough to read and comment on the poem which I submitted my mistake as well, Good manners and politeness rate very high on my list. Lovely to meet you.
