This is my second contest and I really wanted to do one but I couldn't think of what to do...I was just sitting there listening to "Mirrorball", the cd by Sarah McLachlan and suddenly it hit me.
I really am into Sarah McLaclans music and a lot of her songs are extremely poetic. So, this contest is to take a Sarah McLachlan song, or part of a Sarah McLachlan song and use it in a poem or base a poem on it or whatever as long as it relates to any song by her...
Rules:
1. put what song you used in your authors comments
2. comment on at least one other entrants poem and on at least one of mine
3. no chat speech...that's just iritating
okay that's about it...have fun!

Never actually listened to a song by Sarah McLachlan but I've always been meaning too because I think that I would like her stuff. I assume (although I may not be right) that her songs are of the same genre as artists like 'Jewel' and 'Heather Nova' (which I love) - I dunno whether you've heard of them? Anyhoo, cool contest and if I do happen to get around to buying her CD then I'll be sure to enter. Have fun judging and I hope you get entries soon x

I love Sarah McLachlan-I'm actually listening to Afterglow at the moment.
'Cast me gently into morning,
for the night has been unkind,
take me to a place so holy
that I can wash this from my mind,
memories of choosing not to fight'...
They're gorgeous lyrics aren't they? I'll definately see what I can come up with for this contest; great idea for one!

Ack! I love Sarah McLachlan! You are wonderfull for making this contest. I have already written a Sarah McLachlan poem based on one of her songs, an plan to enter many, many more new ones because I feel suddenly heartened. "Building A Mystery" , "Arms of An Angel" , and " Adia" are my favorite songs. What's yours? I don't fancy myself a fangirl, but for Sarah, I am. Her lyrics are so poetic, I agree. They are striking and real. I love how, when she does ryhme, it isn't forced, and her words are haunting. Anywho, enough babbling,
, I must skip off merilly to enter this contest. *growls posessively* Mine!

U rox, yo! -
Hey I love Sarah. I swore I left a comment on this, but it's gone! Oh well. Glad to see this up. My daughter recorded a CD with Angel. She sang it as pure as Sarah herself!

Sarah is one of the best. I will have to see if I can come up with a worthy entry...
