Looking4zionShow poetry

I am a very complex creature, so... Where to begin? First off, I would like to say that I am a hopeless romantic. Why is that important, you may ask? Well, I kind of feel like it dictates my writing style at times, but I am not sure how I feel about some things, so I can still have a slightly (and do I mean slightly) open view on certain subjects. I am also a very biased person at times. My views on my beliefs are very biased, and have gotten me in trouble before, but, Oh well, I will NOT be ashamed. I want everyone to know that I recently got married, and found my greatest muse!! My wife is the best in the world, and I want everyone to know that!! Anyway, I hope ya'll enjoy!

Here are the lyrics to a song that kind of explains my username.

To Zion, by Lauryn Hill

One day, you'll understand... Zion
Unsure of what the balance held
I touched my belly overwhelmed
by what I had been chosen to perform
But then an angel came one day
Told me to kneel down and pray
for unto me a man-child would be born
Woe this crazy circumstance
I knew his life deserved a chance
but everybody told me to be smart
"Look at your career," they said,
"Lauryn baby use your head."
But instead I chose to use my heart
Now the joy... of my world...
is in Zion! (Zion, Zion!)
Now the joy... of my world...
is in Zion! (Zion, uhh, Zion!)
How beautiful if nothing more
than to wait at Zion's door
I've never been in love like this before
Now let me pray to keep you from
the perils that will surely come
See life for you my Prince has just begun
And I thank you for choosing me
to come through unto life to be
A beautiful reflection of His grace
See I know that a gift so great
is only one God could create
And I'm reminded every time I see your face
that the joy... (JOY) of my world... (WORLD)
is in Zion! (IS IN ZION) I said Zion! (IS IN ZION)
Now the joy... (JOY) of my world... (WORLD)
is in Zion! (IS IN ZION, IS IN ZION)
Now the joy... Zion! (JOY) of my world... (WORLD)
is in Zion! (IS IN ZION, IS IN ZION)
Now the joy... Zion! (JOY) of my world... (WORLD)
is in Zion! (IS IN ZION, IS IN ZION)
Marching (marching) marching (marching)
to Zion (marching) marching (marching) -- we gon' march
Marching (marching) marching (marching)
to Zion (marching), beautiful beautiful Zion!
Marching (marching) marching (marching)
to Zion (marching) marching (marching)
Marching (marching) marching (marching)
to Zion (marching), beautiful beautiful Zion!
Marching (marching) marching (marching) -- MY JOY, MY JOY
to Zion (marching) marching (marching) -- MY JOY, MY JOY
Marching (marching) marching (marching) -- MY JOY, MY JOY
to Zion (marching), beautiful beautiful Zion! -- MY JOY, MY JOY
Marching (marching) marching (marching) -- MY JOY, MY JOY
to Zion (marching) marching (marching) -- MY JOY, MY JOY
Marching (marching) marching (marching) -- NOW THE JOY
to Zion (marching), beautiful beautiful Zion! -- OF MY LIFE
Marching (marching) marching (marching) -- IS ZION
to Zion (marching) marching (marching)
Marching (marching) marching (marching) -- NOW THE JOY
to Zion (marching), beautiful beautiful Zion! -- OF MY LIFE
Beautiful beautiful Zion! -- IS ZION
Beautiful beautiful Zion! -- IS ZION
Beautiful beautiful Zion!
Beautiful beautiful Zion!
Beautiful beautiful Zion!
Beautiful beautiful Zion!

Her is a beautiful poem written by kaibab
allpoetry.com/ Poem/2278145

It was written to me, and I appreciate his care to lead me in the right direction.

I consider myself to be very real, and I enjoy it when people critique my poetry and let me know that they are really trying to interpret it for themselves. I want someone to tell me if they do not like it, for it will only help me to grow as a poet. If you disagree with the message of a poem that I have written, tell me, but that part probably won't change. I look forward to getting some Straight up" comments!

This is my favorite poet of all time, Langton Hughes, and his poem,
"I Continue To Dream"
oldpoetry.com/ opoem/31304

If you haven't read Hughes, you should. He was a civil rights activist through his poetry, and he wasn't afraid to be straight up about anything that he felt. The result was amazing, and his poetry will forever be, in my mind, the greatest there ever was.

Read some Maya Angelou, it'll do your heart and soul some good!! Here are a few to get started:

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings
Touched By an Angel
Still I Rise
(and because I have a wife that makes this one seem so real and beautiful - )
Phenomenal Woman
