In Dreams of Peace - Sonnet (Collaboration)

Missing image
In dreams of peace I feel your beating heart
It speaks to me of wonders that I'd know
Thereat the path as well the written chart
By which to gauge the way the rivers flow
I wander far and wide so I may see
The answers sought inside my very soul
It's never meet to merely let it be
Perchance you'd seek that picture on the whole
Unveil the dream to eyes that shine so bright
Addressed at length the verities that are
The mind that's closed is shutting out the light
The open mind is reaching for the star
In dreams of peace the universe expands
As Soul is known for making such demands!

Although this says 'collaboration', I want to clarify...Thoreau47 is an excellent sonnet writer...
I am NOT...I've only attempted ONE before; he has thousands to his credit...He so generously gave me the opportunity to compose one with him...most of my ideas had to be altered for meter's sake...
so, it is HIS sonnet; I was merely there as
it happened...It was a glorious experience, for me, to see how easily ~ & how beautifully ~ he was able to compose this piece...I cannot, however, in good Faith, take any credit for it...he wanted me to post it...I declined, telling him I really hadn't done anything to deserve any credit for it...
I talked myself into it, finally, because I have a preferred membership & he does not...I think this sonnet deserves to be highlighted by these graphics...Thank you, my Friend, for a wonderful experience...I think, perhaps, that you've inspired me to TRY to write one on my own again...Therein lies your Gift, Sir...you've INSPIRED me...I salute you for your Talent...& for your generosity...well done, Thoreau47...well done, indeed...I love it...

Thoreau47 did a revision of this sonnet...please view it at www.allpoetry.com/poem/1086726
Please read his works...he is such an excellent writer...

    That is a poetry!

Following verses said much more than I will ever be able to say:
The mind that's closed is shutting out the light
The open mind is reaching for the star
In dreams of peace the universe expands
As Soul is known for making such demands!
I like very much wnen somebody could express their feelings and transfer it to readres soul!

Yes, I certainly recognize his flawless meter and phrasing in this piece and love it as much as ever. Meaning brims over and the reader is left with the epiphany moment...which happens so often in his work. The man is an amazing poet. It is our great loss that he has left the site. You both have worked together with grace and blended your talents beautifully. A gorgeous collab

These are always such a joy to read. And this one is very beautiful with such an inspiring message. I love the line..the mind that's closed is shutting out the light. A breathtaking sonnet.

Annie my Girl...ain't it purty??? hehehe I had such fun...& holy terror...in the creation of this piece...you know me & my free verse style; this is totally different than anything I've done before...not that I did much at all, except sit back & look at my computer screen in awed admiration as I watched him dance...Wow...Ya had to be there, Sweetheart, to know of what I speak... It was awesome & then some!!! hehehe He's such a Patient Man...Thank God!!! LOL...It must have been a harrowing experience for him, poor Dear... Thanks for reading with your loving Heart, my Friend...Love ya, Ain... Wander

    Exquiste!

ONE word AMAZING guys it's beautiful! I read it earlier and I thought I had a favorite part, no, I was wrong, it's just superb in every way! One of the best sonnets I have read, really, and from two exquisite poets! I adore it! Much love, Annie

Yeah, at least you had sleep!!! hehehe I'd been awake all night, after a strenuous week at work!!! LOL A poor excuse, actually...even with a good night's sleep, I could not have done this...& It seems to me that you could teach that ol' rabbit a thing or two!!! & to think, I used to be quite good at math, too...Sigh... Of course, I'm much better at say, 'Jeopardy','Yahtzee' & Poker than I am at... checkers...hehehe I am not a good strategic thinker, at all...Then again, I used to drive Don nuts by drawing to the inside straight all the time...9 out of 10 times, I'd get it, too!!! Oh, well...I've always had 'Beginner's Luck', as well...At any rate, this was a delightful & memorable experience for me...Thankfully, you are a Patient & Kind Man...LOL...I so appreciate you, my Friend!!! You amaze me...Have a wonderful weekend... Wanda

Isn't it beautiful, Helen??? I was amazed at how simple he made it look...Sigh...Someday, perhaps, I may be able to write one on my own...But then, I never could dance by myself very well, either...It always helps to have someone who can lead...Thanks for coming, Sweetheart...Glad you enjoyed it...I know I did...& I thought it deserved to be set off with these beautiful graphics...
