Life's Cards

We know what needs to be done
So we can save ourselves
Stuck between a rock and a hard place
LIfe has delt us these cards
It'a all about how we play the game

When you leave
ther will be feelings of lonliness
I will eventually recover
But until then,
We need to play this game
I'm praying when I turn over these cards
I'm not left a bust
Will you slip me the winning cards?

I only know one thing for sure
I'm only certain that the furture is uncertain
I can rely that it will never change
Even more uncertain is the present

Will you be here for me now?
Before you leave, can i count on you?
Can I rely on you to notice I am crying?
If life delt me some crap right now,
Will you pass me two more cards under the table?

THe future is alwasy uncertain
We need not be paranoid
because we are strong people
we4 can handle these cards face down
hearts pounding in uncertainty
palms sweaty in fear

We have both wondered
Is this worth the trouble?
When we enver had a chance
When lilfe delt us these loosing cards
We are both tempted to give up
It's just easier to leave the playing table
before we gamble more than we should

We are on a count down
I'mpending doom I know
But can we turn this around
into a sweet surrender?
