Charmie's Inkless Diary

Missing image
She craved to be a servant first
(As in Matthew 6:4)
To go  before the Lord in prayer
behind her bedroom door.

For seeing that her printed thoughts
had helped her change inside,
she chose a pen without real ink
and put her self aside.

Each day she’d go inside her room
and fell upon her knees,
and in her diary that she wrote
were listed all her pleas.

One day her skeptic father
had tripped onto the floor
and fell upon the diary
she’d left close to the door.

He made his way back to the couch
where through the book he read
a lot of empty pages,
so placed it down instead.

But as he lay it near the lamp
and when the pages bent,
he held it up in front of light
and saw some faded print.

It said, “ Dear Lord, I thank you so,
for giving me these hands
to write how much I care for you
instead of my demands.
I thank you for my viewing eyes
so other ones can see
how your Son Jesus changed this heart
transforming all of me.

“I thank you for this time I have
to write for only you,
with words that come from just my soul
alone and in your view.

But if you please, there’s just one thing
to only you I'll tell,
I want my dad before he dies,
to choose your Son as well.

Before he kept on reading,
like through his heart a sword,
he fell upon the bended knees
and spoke with Charmie’s Lord.

He witnessed  Charmie’s life through faith
and by these prayers divine,
It took an ‘inkless’ journal
to read between the line!”

Author notes

In honor of what PRAYER can do !
This was inspired and based on a true story that was shared in my bible study class by another member. Later, when I told the person who shared that it was chosen for publication, she passed it onto the lady who'd told her. Lots of tears took place, and it came full circle to revelation. Gems like this feed and confirm our faith!

It's very kind of you and I appreciate your read and sweet comment.

Oh...I think that you accidentally pasted the entire poem to the page instead of a segment, and for the art of keeping the page from jumping (due to spam(, I wonder if you could edit it?

Thank you and have a great day!

    Perfectly Penned Piece

    CookieZeal,

This really was a lovely and perfectly written poem you have penned, and to think it's Thanksgiving, it's perfect timing as well...
You really did a wonderful job with this, I can tell it was inspired by your thankfulness in Him who you serve...
Thanks for always sharing your love, and I hope your day is filled with nothing but good memories as my prayer is that you make many more new ones...
I really appreciate you and your poetry, sorry I don't get to stop by as much, but I do have to tell you, that when I do, it's you and your tender heart that I truly enjoy upon the words you pen so sweet and true...
May God bless you this Thanksgiving day and many more to come!!! ~Smiles~ and (((Hugs))) to my sweet sis!!!

    Much Love!!!
    -Timothy

in awe of your craft...as a rule, being an atheist, I don't like or understand the message in works of faith like this...but it stood as a polished poem regardless of subject matter and I do believe in reading not only those poets who write in similar style to ourselves, but sampling a little from all styles and subjects...thank you for this write it was truly charming...Victoria

I agree .. this is a really strong piece. No wonder it was chosen for publication. Things I liked about it particularly:

The title ... intriguing and fascinating, really leapt out at me.

My favourite line was this: she chose a pen without real ink
    and put her “self” aside.

That's simple yet perfect. Yet again you take my breat away, Cookie!
