Smile for me, and I’ll snap away
Like the big stain on my jumper
If you had gotten your way
It stuck on the second and
Soaked through the fibres
But don’t go! I’d rather it stayed
Only paid a fiver
The sun glosses off you face
When you smiled for me and I snapped away.
Caught between the heart and skin
Made from tin
Stuck, and stay for a while
Stay in the spiral
Control makes you smile
So just smile for me and I’ll snap away
Cobbled clauses pave the way
Down the street that I knew
But I don’t really know what it means.
It’s only the truth it seems.
Open the blind, to be blind open
I’m blind and broken
Not permanent, like the stain on my jumper
Climbing up through the fibres like a bloody big spider
Reaching its splashed arm towards my neck
On my face but the contents fade
When I smiled for you and you snapped away.
