Pocahontas Butterfly

Your eyes are like the deep sea waters,
drowning with sorrow from a lifetime before me.
They blink, they blend, the shine like the alters,
lit with flames of a thousand candles.

Your nose is cute like the short pink blossoms,
that early in summer blooms.
The snow, the rain, the water falls
and the earth my love consumes.

Your mouth, your lips, soft and gentle,
caress with sweet innocent first kisses.
The stars, the moon, the earth can settle,
around the sun so bright with love delicious.

Your face, your smile, a big decision,
to let you go and find your core.
My heart, my soul, a brave admission,
my pocahonatas butterfly is free once more.

Author notes

After last year's traumatic breakup with a woman I really loved, and having some impassioned sexual relationships I met, and maybe lost a beautiful butterfly in the space of 3 weeks.
