Throughout my life
ive viewed myself
as just another being
I thought that what
i saw in me must be
what the world was seeing
Just plain ole me
im not that great
just a face lost in the crowd
No one cared
to notice me
my silence was my shroud
As i grew
and searched for me
i came up empty handed
what could i offer
someone else
i felt my soul was stranded
Surely, there's something
hiding in
this plain wrapper that you see
A trait a gift
or just maybe a
great personality
Through trials
and some tribulations
ive come to find the key
Something deep
within my soul
that makes me truly me
There is a gift
from god im sure
a way to reach the masses
All i need is
is paper and pen
and maybe some reading glasses
it flows from
deep within me
from my heart to fingertips
A precious gift
that helps me speak
without using my lips
Ive learned to write
to share myself
with others of my kind
I speak of those
who search the soul
and cherish what they find
Im not so different
im quite unique
my beauty you can see
Now i can reach the world
who i thought
never noticed me
