I'm A Gold Trophy Whore (Monchielle)

Missing image
by ~Gregg Rowe~

I’m a gold trophy whore
I count my syllables –
Find my beat, meter, sound –
I watch
subject, object,
Predicate, verb and noun

I’m a gold trophy whore
Every morning I rise
In pain and sit to write
Demons are angry -- I
Toss them in mortal light

I’m a gold trophy whore
I have studied, read, heard –
Find the
here, avoid there:
Write to damask the masks
Day and night that you wear

I’m a gold trophy whore
I ask these three questions:
Suppose, what if and why
Then I enter a trance
Penning poetry I cry

*To Write A Monchielle (Monchielle)

allpoetry.com/Column/1616570

If you decide to write a Monchielle of your own, I would be honored if you put "Monchielle" in the title of your poem, and add the following to the Author's Comment:

Many of you may not be familiar with a Monchielle, it is a form that Starhiker created... A Monchielle is as such; first line repeats in each stanza, four stanzas in total, consisting of five lines, each of six syllables, and lines three and five rhyme. The pattern is "Abcdc Aefgf Ahiji Aklml"...

Wow! Great Monchielle, Gregg! Is this really how you write your poems? That is so awesome! I see you like the image Lencio used on his Lento-contest. Thanks for sharing this with us! You have my applause, and my standing ovation! Jim
