Heavenly Be

Rain has spread across this land
While we walked hand to hand
There are things about you that escape me
Your eyes for one help me see
The man you become who you’ll be
Someday you’ll see the woman am soon to be
But for now we have each other
And everyday it matters
That I can jump, hop and skip
Without the other layer of skin
That I can sing, dance and dream
That’s what I can do and redeem
How much love for you I have in me
This is heaven although it seems
Not everyday I can live a dream
But float in a stream a stream in your world
Filled with many things you want to unfurl
Until that day comes I’ll just pretend
To know everything there is to know about a friend
To finally fall in love with this man
And let all heaven know that he has all right to be
