Animal Testing

You can hear their whimpers
from down the hall
as they cower in pain
away from the nasty man
with the sharp knife
and the stinging medicines.
No one feels sorry for them
not in that cold dark building
but on the outside
there are protests
have been for years.
Maybe there's hope one day
but right now
they'll die in that lonely life
they're dying now.
Trapped in cages
claws don't help
against the men with needles
who are slowly killing them.
What did they do?
No one will ever know
because there is no answer.
It's just humans as usual
putting themselves first.
What can you get from animal testing
but a longer human life?
So that argument is lost.
No one can ever say
it will help
because it will only help
the nasty man
with the knife and medicine
who will rot in hell.
Perhaps they may find a cure
to cancer or lung disease
but cosmetics?
That's just spite.
makeup doesn't belong
on their little innocent faces
like small children
tortured by angry parents.
They can't defend themselves
so give them a chance
and stop the testing.
