A new life was welcomed into the world the other day.
He had to be born right then, there was no other way.
His mother was young and so are you.
You're only seventeen. There's only so much you can do.
Two pounds, eight ounces, and sixteen inches long.
Three days after his birth, his mom gave up her rights and she was gone.
Day in and day out, you sit in his room.
You can't give up hope that he'll come home soon.
I know he's little, but he's your son.
He's been a little fighter since day one.
I want you to know that I'll always be there.
For God to take little Ryan away from you would be unfair.
Ryan is so lucky to have a father like you.
Looking around, I know that I'm lucky, too.
I know right now it's so hard to be strong,
But together for a little while, we'll have to hold on.

it was a story based off my cousin. she had her baby and it was 2 lbs. and she was so little. i didn't want to write the story the way things happened so i changed some stuff. i'm glad that you liked it though. thank you for reading.

OMGosh...what a story. How sad to think about such a thing and what a challenge to overcome. You wrote a lovely poem!
How did things turn out since then?
