Gardens of Ice

I giggle and dance
and soon my toes are numb.
My nose and ears are red;
but, I don't care.

Light reflects off of those
frozen gardens of shimmering crystals;
leaves, trapped in a clear glaze,
beautiful.

I slip on the sidewalk
and look at my friend,
snickering.
She fell.

Author notes

We were just a little high on that three-mile walk home on the ice. It was entertaining.

    I like this. I really like the first two stanzas, and the third adds to the fun of it and makes it your own!

    Light reflects off of those
    frozen gardens of shimmering crystals;
    leaves, trapped in a clear glaze,
    beautiful.

    I love these lines. Wonderful work!
