Hollow Brown Eyes

No one understands
unless you're one of 'us'.
You can't understand
so what is there to discuss?
You've never been hurt
never kicked to the ground
and i don't mean physically
i mean inside your own bound.
I don't do what i do
to be cool or fit in
instead to the killing dance
a form of suicide they bring.
It's a way to speak out
to the pain that's within
but no one understands
unless they've sinned this very sin.
So don't try to understand
and don't pretend that you know
my reasons for doing this
just hope you'll never sink this low.
In all my fifteen years
that i've wasted down here
i've never been so happy
as on my birthday once a year.
For at that time i'm reminded
how many years i've survived
as each one grows longer
with each tear that i've cried.
Why don't you understand
i don't want to feel this way
that i didn't choose this life
so don't bring me down today.
As each year grows longer
i get better inside
because i've lasted longer than i once thought
behind these hollow brown eyes.
