We

(VERSE 1)
Sitting here and wonder why I think I'm gonna die tonight,
Lookin' round at all our lives and thinkin' bout it all.
What's the problem here today? We seem to think we're on our way,
to better days, but what's the real deal?

(BRIDGE)
I see the world through children's eyes,
but feel it through a grown up hand.
Smell and taste the clear blue skies,
but feel it start to fall.

Now what's the deal, society?
have you forgotten all your young?
Don't forget the boys and girls,
We still can see it all.

(CHORUS)
We see the pain of war,
we feel the pain of loss.
We'll always be the ones,
the repercussions find.

Without the help of you,
we'll change the course of life.
Without the help of you,
forgotten, we live on.

(VERSE 2)
Driving down and see the people wandr'ing 'round and 'round again,
I think I see the rituals they have to follow through.
The city's vast and old, the people, many thousands here.
And none of them seem to have a clue.

(BRIDGE)

We see the pain of war,
we feel the pain of loss.
We'll always be the ones,
society forgets.

Without the help of you,
we'll change the course of life.
Without the help of you,
We'll make this world our home.

Sittin' here and wondering why I think I'm gonna die tonight,
Maybe it's because of all the things I see around.
Watching TV hearing news of people 'cross the sea in trouble,
Maybe if we ran the world, then things could start anew.

We're always gonna be here,
we're just a step behind,
we'll always be the ones,
to catch our breath the last.

Without the help of you,
we'll change the course of life.
Without the help of you,
We'll make this world our home.
(repeat)

    Almost a Prayer.

This is very lyrical and carries a powerful message.Yes the children and youth are stronger than we know, they are the ones who will lead and show.I feel your pain and understand your despair,we were young once and full of hope and ideas to change. Then we got caught up in the rat race, fell from grace and just took care of ourselves.Thank you for reminding us that hand in hand we can make a difference.Reflective and inspirational write.Elizabeth.

I often sit and wonder what will become of Our Children when things are so hard for Us as Adults already, and will only become harder, but We can only try Our best, and They like Us will have to endure day to day living at the best pace We possibly can... Josephine. I like Your song lyrics very much.

I thought this was very well done...much better than the other 'lyrics' on this site that I've read so far. I really enjoyed the song's message and agree whole-heartedly that this is what the world needs. Again, great job and definitely worthy of hearing on the radio.

    Happy Clappy Guy Material!

So you're saying you wrote this after not writing in ages? Lies!! It is madness and lies!! Lol anyway, like a good lyric I could imagine how it would sound (Although I still cant wait to hear the actual recording!!) One of my favorite parts would have to be:
    "Without the help of you,
we'll change the course of life.
    Without the help of you,
We'll make this world our home."
I think that really unifies all of those being forgotten in society..it brings together not only the young but the appropriate title. What I got from this is that you are talking about the young'uns in our society, those who are battling between being considered kids still or young adults. Lots of issues and needs are being ignored and a popular excuse is just that there are hormones involved. Kudos on the great write

P.S I want to hear the recording!! Hehe
