Tears of Blood

A family turns to me in spite
All because I rejected him
They think of him as angelic and pure
But no one sees with eyes of truth
They're blinded by their world of dreams
They force him on me but I rebel
I'm furious with everything he's failed to do
And all the things he refuses to be
He doesn't want to be a dad
He lives his life in hiding
So far away in California
They say he's changed but I disagree
And hypocrisy takes its' place
How can he be a changed man?
When he claims to be a father to a church
But can't be a father to his own children of the flesh
A memory of what he used to do
It never ceases to haunt my mind
Of the days he took me on his rounds
Selling drugs around the block
Then the parties everlasting
With drinking and more drugs abounding freely
And all the times he beat my mom
Then turned his hand on me
With every day spent in the hospital
Lying on a bed with doctors claiming I would die
From asthma, pneumonia, hypothermia, bronchitis, and such
Another tear slipped down my cheek
The crimson droplet shining bright
Leaving a red trail down my face
A river of blood at my feet
A fury gripping my heart tight
Of everything that was said and done
But worst of he doesn't care
He doesn't realize the damage he’s done
And after 18 years of misery
He has yet to apologize
But his time will come
For him to pay his dues
And when judgment day comes
He’ll burn in hell
While I dance on the clouds
And sing with the angels

    this was a good poem. : )

check out the graphic too, she has a HUGE lower lip. lol. did that inspire the title, or did the title lend to the graphic? I was surprised to read about romps through drug town, and I hope you never have to deal with anything like that again. right? lol.

    guilty

Wow, this is deep. This also hurts because I can relate to this a little. I sense there is a lot of pain toward this person. Let's Talk?

I was supposed to write an angry yet descriptive poem for this poetry class I'm taking and Rob was the only thing I could think of off the top of my head that produced the emotion needed for the write. But yeah. Just let me know when you want to talk about it. I will be more than happy to.
