I hate to break it to you, but that will never win the pulitzer prize. Infact, you won't even win the Newberry award! Because that isn't exactly a novel...
I will hand it to you though, your a much better writer than Dean Koontz. He'd essentially stretch that one stanza out to make a whole NOVEL, and then he'd use that same stanza in his next novel, and his next, and his next...
Mind you, I'm not faulting him. Infact, you should try doing that yourself. You'd make lots of money.
