Necronomicon

Be silent! Tell none what you may learn
Of ancient timeless Cthulhu
Or know that your doom will be unspeakable!
Know that untold horrors await you
For your insolent meddling
In the deepest eldritch secrets
Of the age-old hidden Necromicon.
The Great Old Ones do not sleep
But rather wait and punish
Impudent humans who pry
Trying to know the unknowable.

Lovecraft's persistent warning to a 'T'--and the images would work nicely as cover illustrations for his books. Well done.

    Excellent Poem

    For your insolent meddling
    In the deepest eldritch secrets

You reached back to a much older style of writing for this, impressive use of the typical vocabulary of the time. The picture was also chosen well!

Thank you for entering my contest!

A Fallen Angel is still an Angel.

Brilliant Edna, highly philosophical and very intense. And yes the old ones never sleep,a tireless watch do keep.Oh Lucifer a friend to many and only an enemy to some.Perfect and a sure winner.Elizabeth.
Read Just Michael's Poem too and it is also good.Am so glad he is back on the scene.

that is wonderful. I read some books on the very subject years ago, I think Brian Lumley also wrote some horror using the same inspiration. Brilliant Edna, as always.
