Let the games begin

Let the games begin
come on and do us proud
the Aussies here all in the race
the crowd is shouting loud

Let the games begin
the roads are chock a block
and to get a first day pass
I've put my house in hock

Let the games begin
excitement fills the air
but I'm stuck in New Zealand
so shouldn't really care

Let the games begin
it's time to take a stand
let's not forget they're friendly games
so shake the loser's hand

Let the games begin
and let's enjoy the fun
for 'clean up all Australia'
begins when this is done.

This came across to me as a fun loving, light hearted game. Although, it is a competition and the desire to win-it's still a game and an opportunity to show good sportsmanship. Cute entry. vj

This is just too much like cheerleading! Actually, I love this! It's so perky and full of energy, and I'm sure you will at least get a trophy for being best cheerleader! Hugs, Patricia

Thank you, Ms 'Kethry', we agree so closely. We here (as a group) appear to be rapidly forgetting the sport for something more patriotic. (Patriotism is the last refuse of a scoundrel keeps/always rings in my head) - Thank you again; -- I'm going to end up voting for you to be my Prime Minister/President.
