Run away into the night,
Invisible Child, stay away from the bush,
Flock to a safer place to sleep,
Just keep hope for a new day.
Dance and sing for hope,
Hope for peace and safety,
Safety will find you soon,
Soon it will be a brand new day.
Invisible Child, keep quiet,
Don't make a sound while you run,
Run through the forest,
Get away from the LRA.
Kidnapping and torture is all that waits,
If you let them get you.
Flee for your safety,
Flee for your life.
Invisible Child, the world doesn't see,
How your plight affects you or me,
My dream is that that war will end,
And your suffering shall turn to life.
Dance and sing for hope,
Hope for peace and safety,
Safety will find you soon,
Soon it will be a brand new day.
Soon it will be a day of peace.
Invisible Child, stay away from the bush,
Flock to a safer place to sleep,
Just keep hope for a new day.
Dance and sing for hope,
Hope for peace and safety,
Safety will find you soon,
Soon it will be a brand new day.
Invisible Child, keep quiet,
Don't make a sound while you run,
Run through the forest,
Get away from the LRA.
Kidnapping and torture is all that waits,
If you let them get you.
Flee for your safety,
Flee for your life.
Invisible Child, the world doesn't see,
How your plight affects you or me,
My dream is that that war will end,
And your suffering shall turn to life.
Dance and sing for hope,
Hope for peace and safety,
Safety will find you soon,
Soon it will be a brand new day.
Soon it will be a day of peace.
Author notes
This is about the children in Northern Uganda who are forced to flee two hours from their houses at night out of fear of being killed, or captured by this rebel group (Lords Resistance Army or LRA, lead by Joseph Kony). I wish so much to help these children and to try to end the war. www.invisiblechildren.com/home.php go there, give a care

Terrifyingly good
Wow that's deep....and true...which is saddening to think that somehwere out there, there are 'invisible' chirldren doing exactly this....
That's pretty sucky...but people must suffer for others to enjoy life's pleasures....but it's always the innocent that have to suffer.....
oh and thanks Aeris for putting this on your page, so I could read this poem. -
phenomenal!!!!!!
this is amazing, and i feel so sad for them! i didn't know... wow. this is just phenomenal. i like the whole thing, i have no favorite or least favorite part. it's so great. so true, but then so sad, because they ARE getting killed, and they are innocent. why are they doing that? never mind, i'll look at the site before i ask questions. i'm just sitting here thinking how scary it must be for a 3 year old, my age (11), let alone an ADULT, how scary it must be to know they could die anyday. we can too, but it's not as severe over here. that's so sad. thank you for writing a poem letting us know whats going on, thank you so much for the wonderful read! -
Heartfelt
Brilliant! This is for a very good cause, I hope this helps inform people of the Invisible Children. We can all devote just a little of our souls to helping not only these children, but to every innocent person tainted by poverty, war, or just their status in life. I thank you for allowing part of their pain and fear become part of yours, and in return, letting part of your hope and courage become part of theirs, lord knows they need it.
