The wind blows stiff and cool over St. Luthor's church. It is lonely here. Barren. In the winter of 1847, the village of Gallaway finally succumbed to the famine that had already pushed millions from the land. Now, only the wheat and the dead remain to testify the toll of the bell that once rang clear and without fail, those chilly mornings of long ago.

very good angle on that shoot. the plants in the front view had the most effective effect. I loved it.

i really like this, i saw a number of old churches like this in scotland, and have pictures of a few from this summer, but didn't think to find the sepia mode on my camera, i'm sure it's there...i just don't really know how to use all the features on that thing. anyway, i like the angle of this, and the centering. the grassy stuff in the foreground also adds to the lonely-ness of the picture. very well done

A good photograph. It looked really calm. I liked the plants there in the forefront. Not sure of their name. The picture had a serene feel to it.
