Promise Rhyme

Missing image

I will pick you flowers,
scented beauties by the score ~
I will bring them home to you,
then I'll go & plant some more.

I will sing you dove's call ~
mournful, sweet & low ~
I will be an open book
so when you look, you'll know.

I will be the moonlight
to illuminate your skies ~
I will lasso shadows
& steal them from your eyes.

I will be the willow
that bends low to the stream ~
I will be the vision
that leads you to this dream.

We will dance to music
only you & I may hear ~
I will slay the darkness
so you have no need to fear...

I think the best lines here are the lassooing shadows and stealing them from the eyes, they stood out to me from the whole poem here

Once i wrote of my Poseidon....making mud islands for him to stay on, grappling with the monster waves that continually engulfed him and took him from me over and over and over...I finally stopped looking out into the far edges of the sea for him.
Beatuifully done, as always, dear friend.
  • Girl you have it down to a fine art ... you can make rhyme the art that Pope and the boys meant it to be

Oh Wanda! what a wonderful piece here! very simple and so beautiful in its form and sentiment! I've been so overwhelmed this past week or so that I've only popped in for brief moments--but I always look for your posts, because they always inspire and uplift me! you are a vision, and a visionary! thank you, for sharing your gift with we humble mortals!
    "I will lasso shadows
& steal them from your eyes."
You take the shadows of grief, of fear, of despair from my eyes and my heart, allowing the sunlight of Hope to shoot its gloryshafts throughout my day! be well poet, you are loved! john

Another sweet verse, from a sweet lady poet, a world of tender romance, like a bedtime prayer...
