"I live my life a quarter mile at a time"
First I sprint, I slow to a jog, and I'm walking through life
Small minutes pass me by-but I push on
Many times not knowing where I am headed
There's no caution signs-to alert me
No detour signs-to send me sailing safely on my way
"I live my life a quarter mile at a time"
Where I am going I haven't quite figured out
But I believe there is hope here-and prayer too
In a second my life could be over-still so much time left
In one minute everything could be gone-will I regret how I live
Silence is all I can hear-nothing to see for miles
"I live my life a quarter mile at a time"
Sins of mine-stretch along this road
Rocks and pollution-spread out far
My body aches but I cannot slow down
If I meet the maker tonight
I wonder if hell ask me where I am going
Ill tell him
*First I sprint, I slow to a jog, and I'm walking through life
There's no caution signs-to alert me
No detour signs-to send me sailing safely on my way
Ive picked up much knowledge-I stumbled in my path
Ive bled-Ive suffered-Ive conquered it all
"a quarter mile at a time"
Author notes
This isnt the best of my work.. but I was inspired by a couple people who are really close to me and they have gotten me out of my writers block.
