I peeked through dream's window of misty veil
watched fog slither out musty black holes
it crawled in chains cross moon glossed streets
eerie scene under porch light's ghostly glow
It toiled in my mind, this odious dream
shadows swirled up from its stagnate mist
there stood a hooded creature, in billowing shrouds
stitched patchworks from collected souls
As he crept closer within shivering view
his steps groaned creaks, from brittle bones
they hauntingly leered out, here and there
fermented skin, curled up on corners edge
He stalked my scent through bolted door
inhaled whiffs, for ripened soul
growled approval in a devilish moan
with exhaled breaths nursed on coffin mold
I watched him sway sickle in skillful hand
blood dried crisp, on razored edge
he howled my name into grizzly winds
and death feasted on my dusty blue corpse
The forms faded from quivering view
pillow clutched tight, in trembling hands
screams pierced echoes through dimly lit room
as I clawed my way back to reality's realm

This was a wonderful write I really enjoyed it but you might want to change the font here as it is makes it difficult to read. Thank you for following the rules and putting " I am wonderful" in the AN. Good luck in my contest

first of all this line was awesome: "there stood a hooded creature, in billowing shrouds/stitched patchworks from collected souls"
second, I love the ending! It literally took my breath away.
Also, I love how this poem has a creepy feel to it. It makes me want to sleep with both eyes open (to be cliche)
