Still Morning Waters

*
The clarity of morn, hides
deep within the mist
as crisp edges frost over,
in ghostly silhouette
glassy waters peek out,
softly, here-and-there
a magical illusion,
a mirror lies sleeping just beneath

The distant watercolors, hushed
under feathery undertones
listen to their serene whispers
Autumns upon the cusp
just before giving way
to their long wintry rest
where dreams of early spring,
hum lullabies, crisp within the winds

Just along the ripple's edge
a lone pine stands in awe
as he finds absolute favor
within this tranquil world
unparalleled in beauty
sculptured, by Mother Nature's hands
demands its prestigious claim,
of front and center stage

And floating on still waters,
just off invisible shores
Inhale the breathless encores
of natures spiritual notes
surreal are the vibratos
in bellowed echoed tones
Shadowed, by the chilling sounds,
of a Lake Loon's mating song
