Now don’t get me wrong,
I do so love the rain,
But it is so chilly and dreary today
And not so cheery at all,
So that one begins to long for the sun to shine again.
But if it should insist on continuing,
I say let it,
I have no quarrel with the friendly pattering
Of water on the leaves.
All I would ask
Is that it warms its disposition
To become more inviting,
Rather than the cold and driving demeanor
That it’s so taken to lately.
For it’s not so cheery
To dance in the dreary, chilly rain,
But now, if it were to be a warm rain,
Ah!
What a wonderland that would be!
To feel a million kisses
In the form of liquid diamonds
That soak you
So deliciously.
In your ecstasy,
As you watch the world sparkle.
Where every puddle is inviting,
Calling,
Coaxing your eager feet
To jump right in and splash about for a bit.
And a rainbow watches over you
As you happily squelch your way home.
Rain, I beg you,
Leave behind your dreary ways,
And give us a cheery day
Of warm dancing rain.
Author notes
i love the rain, but here it's rained for so long. i mean it's june for goodness sake, and it feels like november! by this time we should be getting warm rain, so i wrote this cause its better than grumbling about the weather.

This is a very nice writing. There is some really vivid imagery and feeling here. Keep up the great work.
