Memories (lengthy)

Missing image

The Rogue

Your eyes revealed
    what your mouth
    would not ~

I found the subtle lie.

You are clever,
    without a doubt,

but I have seen
    too many suns set
         to be enchanted
    by sunrise now.

    Keep your distant intrigues ~

       I have no need
       for stars that
            fall
       without benefit
            of Night...

Flourishing Faith

Flowers bloom in dreams of peace
They inspire the soul to shine
Vivid vision will not cease
For its mission is divine.

Arrowheads

You stab at me with your sarcasm
I wound you with my words
We circle each other, engaged in battle
drawing blood with each strike
You corner me, seemingly victorious
but I parry and pounce with passion
I back you into the tightest spot
you've been in since your mother's womb
and as I draw my sword
to end the battle,
somehow
the point is lost...

As the Shadows Come

Fear the Night ~
    for it will steal
your courage while it sleeps ~
    shadows hide
your secret dreams
    that sunlight never keeps.

Stall the Dawn ~
    for you still need
the safety of the Dark ~
    'tis not secure,
in vain, I plead ~
    it always leaves its mark...

Testing the Distance

I wonder...
 will you hold me close
or press back, all too aware
 of elapsed Time?

Has the Dream
 survived intact

or has it been just Dream
 & not Reality
    for too long?

I have often wondered
 at your memory,
    filled with the warmth
 it freely inspires...

I have yearned
for the touch of your Voice,

    the sound of your Soul
 as you reached across
    Time & Space
         to hold me:

 my mind counsels caution;
my heart has already taken Flight...

Lessons of Spirit

I have learned
 the Grace behind the Beauty,
    the Truth within the Soul...

we are Teachers of Creation,
 Disciples of Life.

Whispers of the Heart
 speak the Language
    of Infinity

 & will not be detained
    by the Boundaries of Time.

There is a Star that shines
 & will not fall...

    it is in your eyes.

I have discovered
 a Voyage of Destiny...

the sea is calm & constant.

The Flow of Life
 cannot be altered
    by mere Mortality...

we are more than our bodies Believe...

Sorcerers

We must inspire
  the World to grow---

not in size,
  but perspective.

We must quit wading
  in water too shallow
     and plunge

         into the depths
           of Imagination.

We are Breath & Life
  combined,

     but we breathe destruction
         too soon ~

  we must believe
     in the energy of Earth...

The End of the Trail For Us: Return of the Warrior

You come to me with Sorrow
 apparent ~
in your eyes,  I see,
but I will keep
    the silence of Compassion.

You hold Time on a leash,
 but who leads
    & who follows?

You seek to control vision,
 but you dare not look
    into my soul ~
 what do you fear?

Soldier of my dreams ~
Guardian of my Truth ~

 remove the armor
    that keeps you
 from my beating heart...

excerpts from: For Blake ~ A Fellow Poet

...No, we are not alone ~
there are voices scattered all along
 this hopeful Horizon,
   an astounding assortment
of solo voices that wait for Harmony.

Someday,
 our voices ~
& our spirits~
   will rise & join together,
 a chorus so enchanting ~
   so beautiful ~
 that the World will stop
& listen in reverence & awe.

Until the moment of Triumph arrives,
we must be content
   to sing unto ourselves,
to know that our Song
   will be ~
   must be ~
heard by all.

It is sometimes a struggle
to rise to the occasion,
   but rise, we must ~

for there are those
   who lie in darkness,

waiting for a hand & heart
   strong enough
to lift them
   into the clouds,

to help them
find their wings...

Oh, yes indeed..."we are not alone ~
there are voices scattered all along
    this hopeful Horizon,
    an astounding assortment
of solo voices that wait for Harmony"

There is a chorus of angel's wishes, prayers and poems, gathering ont he horizon, in the cloaks of cautious crusade..to make that difference..that one all-loving assault on an anxious world.
Again, pure poetic is your heart.

    Excellent

Wow, how come i haven't come across this pieces before, now. Cheating, it isn't acceptable, for a whole year haven't seen this, no. What lovely writes, what awesomeness, expressing the soul, without bounds, this are those that stand for eternity to become classics. The love expressed, is just ah, superb. The thoughts, the ideas, the way it is written, leaves breathless.
    Thoroughly enjoyed.

Such a wonderful basket of flowers these are
and such is wnder when gathered by fingers of wisdom,
You are always on the cusp of discovery
and as you walk your pages of dreams
you scattered these psalms to be seen as
markers, searching for a way to
gather your deciples into spreading you beauty
as they wander back into their onw lonliness...

Well, my dear friend...This is great poetry indeed, and what a way to start a new day with my hungry eyes flowing down your soothing stanzas. Here are the "peaks" of my emotion:

    but I have seen
    too many suns set
    to be enchanted
    by sunrise now.

and as I draw my sword
    to end the battle,
    somehow
    the point is lost...

    but rise, we must ~

    who lie in darkness,

waiting for a hand & heart

You have written so many poems, Vlindertjie that it is hard to keep up and remember them all; therefore I am so grateful that you've posted these beauties again. Simply wonderful poetry each and everyone of them. I especially liked these lines...I back you into the tightest spot you've been in since your mother's womb ....so sharp and witty - wonderful! I like Testing the distance too...but then, I like all of them. I've been terribly busy lately and barely have time to read poetry...but your's is simply magnificent, my friend!! A beautiful collage of memories and the art of poetry...

An incredibly inspiring collection of poems, especially for those who are new to the glorious beauty of your work. It has been and continues to be a great pleasure to follow your writings as they illustrate the bitterness and untamable joy that one experiences in this life!!
