Sitting alone, today, in my balcony
I closed my eyes, searching for you.
I saw you smile and giggle so sweet
And running wildly beneath the blue.
Craving over sentiments, I stayed bold
as I blindly sense the glitters in your eyes.
I hear your voices, resonating around me.
I yearn for your touch…and my strength dies.
Opening my eyes, I stare into the sky.
Let bird’s song be your voice
and the stars, the sparkles I sensed.
I wonder no more for my harsh rejoice.
As the wind touched me, I thought it was you,
and an ache occurred in my heart
Influenced by sadness, sorrow and grief
I shivered too weakly feeling you apart.
Looking through the prism of memoirs
I see the random images of past go by.
With a smile on my face, numb I stay.

Death...is a truth that we all are going to see, feel and someday face.
This poem is written from the point of view of Neri(my friend and the contest holder), who lost her two close relative.
I think i have been not too metaphorically complicated in this poem. In case you dont understand, kick me !
Title :- A blind person can feel more deeply than normal human. Neri has not met( or SEEN ) her relative since long 'cause she moved to another country. But she is still deeply moved 'cause of the sad news. A BLIND GLANCE is a glimpse full of feelings even though we cannot see from naked eyes, its what your heart makes you see.

I've read this over twice....to be able to fully capture the emotions passed on in each and every line of this heartfelt poem...Sometimes just a scent...the feel of something....can take us back to memorylane...and feel as if the lost loved on is still there..and sometimes it 'll make you cry...sometimes a memory will bring a smile onto your face and warm your heart feeling their presence there..and sometimes it'll do both...You are so talented Vic....and it's a bless you have this talent...cos sometimes when we can't "speak"....we can say it in written words....

I had to read this again. It truely is beautiful(despite the story behind it) It really does do a lot to your emotions when you lose someone close to you. You never know what you had until it was gone. They say you can say your goodbyes and get closure whenever you want to but sometimes you just dont want to let go. thanks for sharing this poem.

Yes, they say when one is blind it heightens your other senses...i have lost close family members too and the pain is sometimes unbearable - I try to keep in mind how very fortunate i was to have them in my life in the first place.

Well sweetheart....... i give this poem three thumbs up and 10 stars. This was a very good way to put such a sentimental feeling into a new perspective for others. And i agree with SeLfDeStRuCtIoN on the fact that you do have way more talent then you like to own up too. But considering some people I know that is a good thing not to have such a big head about yourself. It is a talent to write about death in such a beautiful fashion......... Tell Neri that i'm sorry for her lost and that i send a hug of comfort. She'll need it.

When I read it I thought of it as being romantic. I figured that you had fallen in love with someone and she had left you or something to that extent. When I read your note I figured out what the poem really was about. It is well written but I guess it depends how the reader takes it. Yeah sadly life is a cycle. Someone is born and someone dies and the cycle of life continues. Some must die to make room for the new. It is so sad to lose someone very close to you. I find that it takes unreal strength to rise up and stand again after a death of a very close person. -
Oh my god, vic.. I think this is one of your best poems (of thoose ive read of course) I think you really got into how it feels to lose someone, cause i know how it feels. You really show, how much about death that we dont understand, like.. why they arent here with us, or why we cant be with them.. I really, Really like this poem.. Its sorta different of the others youve done, cause this shows the sorrow and grief, about loosing someone you love.

I have to say this is one of the most emotional and heartfelt poems I have read. That may not be the right word to describe it but I felt this poem. WHen I read it, I was able to feel what someone may feel. My heart actually ached. Such great imagery. I could see myself standing there and I could hear a beautiful song from a bird. I can see that prism. Its kind of funny how one thing can make you feel so many emotions. Thanks for sharing this. I loved it! -
Sadly death is a fact of life - depresses the heck outta me..I've lost a few in my family and i will eventually lose more or even die myself - we know not when but it will come to pass. So the best we can do is live for the moment..that's really all anyone is guaranteed..the moment you are in - laugh and love those around you

Yes, they do see more than we can imagine as all their other senses become heightened. You did a wonderful job with this, it's so powerful and filled with you. Very sad but a beautiful write Vic. Death is sad for those who are left behind, but then that is why we all hold some belief, to ease the sadness and hurt of "passing" whether it is leaving someone behind or being left behind. Death is a part of Life, and so in it there is beauty as well.
