Sanctuary
Standing in the light I saw his face
Fading in the dark floating away
In the darkness I heard a soft voice
Calling out to me but the noise….
Became louder and I couldn’t breathe
Someone there was holding on to me
I scream and I fell to my knees
But you were still there calling to me
I choked and the blood came
Swirling into a vortex the hands craved
Grabbing me pulling me within
Your voice pulled me out but then
Standing in the light I saw his face
His warmth I felt with one trace
But he stood there not saying a word
He pushed me into a caged like a gilded bird
The sound of my voice strain
Crying, not understanding his pain
As he disappeared he stared
With one single tear somewhere he cared
Woke up screaming calling his name
Such a sanctuary dream cause such pain
What’s left of me are the sores I endured through the night
And the heart ache I felt when I cried
