Foreboding tones echo, hushed secrets
stirring deep in the whispering caves
fairies joust magic upon magic spell
tug-of-wars, of light/dark happens here.
Each hold the keys to sleepy eyed worlds
hidden deep in the star curtains of night
where charms cast in the tucks and folds
are pillows, for children's peaceful sleep.
Their battlefield fought in dreamscape's realm
winged shadows dance upon thinly veiled skin
wands char bolts cross' twilight skies
enchantments, of sweet/woeful dreams.
And within flickering images of moon spun illusion
enchanted scenes give way to hellish views
as good and bad fairies easily sway visions
the yen and yang of the Woolgathers' underworld.
Who knows who'll win the Stargazer's War, or
which fray holds the book of slumber at sunrise,
will tiny toes awake with sighs of awe, or
trembling from a nightmares's devilish hold.

Beautifully written. I love this poem... the enchantment sort of takes you away. I thank you for sharing it. Write on, poet.

"enchanted scenes give way to hellish views"
that line just left me breatheless...beautiful poem! -
Amazing write once again. I love how you tied in the light and dark into dreams and nightmare. Really fits the pic perfectly. This was a treat to read and I loved how you ended your poem. Kind of left us hangging about what kind of dreams will have from the fairies mischief and hoping the good fairies win the war that night.
Great job
Keep writing
