Taken for Granted
Give it a name
a special and unique name
Name it Special and Unique
Give it two names
A stale crust of bread
decades old
A lone nail clipping
yellowed over time
A soda soaked coin
engaged against another
A phone number missing a name
written on white paper
Give it a name
a special and unique name
Name it Special and Unique
Give it two names
Tell it good-bye
properly
Tell it how
you should have never failed
Tell it now
before you discard it again
Tell it you
are going to fold in the ends
and tie a better knot this time
Put it on file
Set it on fire
Maybe you better not
Maybe you should
leave the cushion on the couch
next time
Call it a memorie
Call it a mistake
Author notes
Changed it up a bit with a new title and a few extra lines... Use to go by 'Take Care'

I love how you took ordinary objects and turned them into more meaningful ideas. Sometimes the silliest of things can resonate a mistake to us. Mistake has been my middle name lately. I think I will leave the cushions where they be. At least for now... Great write! I hope I gathered what it means. Anyway, that is what it means to me.
