A long lost friend,
For so familiar you were,
The first time I saw you.
Thought you were
A sister I treasured,
For sweet affection was
What I felt for you.
Thought you were
A mother I loved,
'Don't drive when on the phone!'
Is what you told me to do.
Thought you were like
A father I respected,
'Study and get your degree, without which
people won't listen to what you have to say!'

A brother I trusted,
For no secrets of mine,
I've tried to hide from you.
You are my closest friend,
You are my dearest family,
No stranger thus you are,
My love for you
Is no different from that
I give to my friends, my family.

You truly fall in love only when you stop seeing the 'Stranger' in the person you love... The girl I love.. She never was a stranger to me.. And that is why I can forgive her for everything she did to me.. And that is also why I'll wait for her.. all my life!

This is a great little piece of writing too!
I think that you did a good job in trying to define something that is difficult in words. When you meet someone and they seem to touch some deep part of yourself, you find it hard to tell them how it's different then from anyone before. So this way was kind of neat because you used family and how she seemed to be the best part of them. Sounds like you have found someone really great!
