Summer Festivals

I  can't  seem  to  pass  a  soul
whom  I  haven't  met  or  at  least  seen
here  in  town the  last  year.
I  am  not  from  around  here,
yet  you  all  treated  me  like  a  sister,
No  one thought  me  immature  for  inhaling
a  grape  snow  cone  and  a  fries  at  the  same
time  as  I  walked  to  the  rides.
Church  groups  marched in  the  parade
along  with  wild  Harley  riders  for charity.
What  a  treat,  I  even  listened  to
the  chamber  music  on  the  square.
I  had  no  idea  I'd  love  a  small  town  festival.

Author notes

Big  City  girl  living  in  a  tiny  town-- not  so  bad  after  all.
