life

oh how i love you;
how my heart dies without you;
i know what it is like to live without you,
can you even say that you were alive?
but now i am awakening;
i am seeing anew
i know that you are El;
and you love me, now i love you
may my love be shown in obedience
and may i learn to cling to you
for without you i can not live;
i might breath, i might eat;
but i can not live without you

Author notes

a little poem i wrote a while ago. the words still hold true, however.

PS El comes from Elohim (a transliteration of the Hebrew word most bibles use for God)

for those who have read my past poetry... I know this is different, but i liked this contest.... Just don't expect serious stuff like this to often, I like crazy stuff more, makes me laugh, where this one just makes me think...

    I think you expressed that we love him because he first loved us. Your heart wells up with love for him because you are overwhelmed with his love.
    Essentially I think you conveyed his love by expressing how much you love him as a result of his love.

    Powerful Point Made

    El, El Elyon, Eloi, Elohim, El Shaddai, Adonai. . . How I love all of God's many names, each one giving another clue to His awesome character. This piece brings out one very important fact: we cannot live without our Father and His Christ. I cannot imagine even one day without them in my life: I could not live through such a day. Well done, poet.
