I met you with wide eyes and big dreams
I love school and I loved being me,
You met me with loneliness and silent screams.
You hated work and being so free.
Together we taught and learned,
and strangely, passion burned.
Each day is a new day,
each night is a day gone.
Sharing secrets in bed we lay,
fall asleep just before the dawn.
In love you feel,
and my friendship, a never ending well.
But along with good times,
came ones of regret.
I foolishly ignored the signs.
As 'needs' and wants were met.
Now I've come to see,
What is best for me.
This was never what I'd planned,
My well, not so never-ending.
I gave you advice, a helping hand.
I; morals should never be bending.
Now that I chose to erase the past.
I realize at last.
The lessons learned will stay.
An experience to be celebrated someday.
Until they good-bye I say.
Please don't check-in and say hey.
Remember, from tomorrow do not hide,
Into the future, I finally ride.

Thank you, but I hate it. Not so much how it's written, but the emotions it reminds me of.
